Marcy //

The searing heat of the sword seemed to blaze through me, It felt suffocating, is this what near death felt like? It was horrible.. My heart was pounding in my head, I could barely hear Anne and Sasha cry out as I stumbled, barely grazed by the deadly weapon Andrias had thrust towards me, the sight of the blazing sword seared my soul without even touching it.. My knees felt weak.. 'He wants me dead..' even my thoughts sounded breathless as my own consciousness seemed to drift away. It felt unreal, such a loving fatherly king who seemed to be my saving grace when I entered Newtopia and had no reservations against trying to end my life.. I got lucky, so lucky, I can admit that while I was furious at Sasha for what she had pulled, I was also glad she had pulled me from my stupor and saved me from another blow from Andrias..

....

The whole ride was a blur, being dragged by the blurry silhouette of Sasha and Grime out the window and onto Joe Sparrow.. It felt like some bad dream, I wished it had been a bad dream, if it was I could wake up, I wouldn't have to face the reality in front of me.. 'How funny.. My escape from reality turned out to be even worse than reality itself..'.. What would she do if it had been a dream? Smile, Cry? Would she still be mad at Sasha? Sad for Anne?? Would the lump of pure guilt that clogged her throat and made her wish to throw up every admission she'd ever wanted to say go away? Would she be able to wake up next to Sasha and Anne and laugh about how stupid the entire thing was? Would she be able to admit how she felt? 'Now is a horrible time to start considering the fact I like Sasha or Anne.. Or both.. God, let alone date either of them.. this is a thought for after Amphibia..'. Being so caught up in her own head made the long journey seem like a flash, they were a toad tower, god forbid she knew which one.. they all served the same purpose but it didn't really matter. Sasha and Grime had gotten off Joe, Marcy still had yet to even think of it. A snarky, yet shaky, voice snapped her from her ever long internal dialogues. "Marcy, are you going to sit there and stare at the ground or are you going to get down here and pray to God that they let us in?" Marcy couldn't think of a way to snap back, a way to tell Sasha just what she thought about her bossing, instead she nodded dumbly and hopped off Joe. Swallowing the guilt piled high in her throat she managed to finally say, "What are we doing here..?" She sounded mousey, like if she spoke too loud something horrible would happen.  Sasha glanced back at Marcy, sighing as she half-heartedly explained, "While we were riding on that bird back there we were discussing where to stay, we decided that we'd stay in one of the toad towers. We literally talked about it the whole ride, ugh.." Sasha sounded like she wanted to continue and tell Marcy off for her lack of focus but instead Grime jumped in, stopping a very unpleasant fight to have in a crisis way bigger than some small friend group. "AHEM... IF they let us stay, I've fallen from grace and you might as well be a sign of doom, I'm not sure they'll even look us in the eyes." Sasha rolled her eyes as she walked up to the door knocking loudly. I'm sure if she tried she could break the door down, the Toad Army definitely did her good..

A few short moments passed before the door was hesitantly opened, upon the sight of the 3 of them the toad at the door seemed to freeze in place, it looked like he was stuck between saluting them since they had made the toad rebellion or running and slamming the doors in their faces for their undoubtedly horrible reputation, as time passed the hope dwindled until it was just a small spark ready to be put out. The toad quietly squeaked out some excuse that they "Didn't have enough room for three.." and slammed the door ensuring all of the locks, of which there were many, were set. They stood there in shock for a moment, there wasn't much else to do as they processed what had happened. I was the first to gather myself, with as much fake confidence as I could handle I called out to Sasha and Grime, hoping that as soon as they remembered what they were supposed to be doing they wouldn't take the reins out of her hands and head to another absolutely unfriendly place to try and stay. "Sasha! Griem! I know a place!" She called from atop Joe Sparrow. They turned around with questioning gazes but she didn't let that stop her. Surprisingly they climbed onto Joe without a word, though from the looks in their eyes they definitely had a few to say to her.

.......

Sasha at some point had definitely recognized where they were going and it has soured her mood, she never thought the girl could pull off such a scary glare, it felt like a hole was being burnt into her as Sasha angrily stared at her back, if she didn't know any better she'd assume she was about to be attacked or even be on fire! ..on fire... Whipping around she checked her cape, only some old scorch marks were on the fabric, nothing more than old memories at this point. She let out a silent sign of relief, if it HAD been on fire they would've been in trouble, Joe doesn't really tolerate fire near him. Poor Joe really, 'I like to say I'm a great owner, and I am! But I'm definitely prone to catching on fire..' Marcy couldn't help but laugh at her self even just a little.

......

They'd finally reached WartWood, or as Sasha had called it, "Wartywood" it was close no doubt but it just had that little extra bit of Sasha snark and Marcy couldn't deny that she adored it sometimes. Grime and Marcy hopped off Joe, Sasha stayed seated on him seemingly not even bothering with the notion of getting down. "Uh., hey Sash.. Are you going to get.. y'know.. down?" Marcy waved her hands around, it was a bit of a habit for her, but that didn't matter, Sashas response was a quick 'Huff' and a middle finger, though only to Marcy which was a little disheartening but fuck her anyways! 'If she's going to be angry and salty about her own mistakes then why should I care!' Marcy told herself, but in the end she knew she couldn't, in the end it still hurt to be disregarded by Sasha.. Anne too, maybe that was something to look into later.. As Marcy contemplated her feelings Grime walked up to her to inform her of Sashas actual opinion that wasn't just "Fuck you Marcy", apparently Sasha was going to stay there until they found a place to stay or had to go to a different town. Marcy rubbed the bridge of her nose, 'This is going to give me a killer headache..'.

......

They met with the residents of WartWood, of which both her and Grime seemed familiar. Though in extremely different ways. They stayed out of Grimes way, throwing nasty looks or running away from him, though the reception for Marcy was mostly just confusion, some outwardly asked what everybody was thinking, "Marcy.. Why are you with.. Emm.. Him.." she considered answering the question but the day has been filled with them at this point and she couldn't bare any more of them. "Alright! I know this is so weird and odd and what not.. But me, Grime, and Sasha need a place to stay! Anne and the Planters aren't here and won't be here for a long while.. We just need a place to stay.. A uh.. base of operations..? Maybe?" As much as Marcy wanted to sound confident she couldn't help but feel her words falter at the end as the population looked at one another, hesitation, fear, concern..She was almost sure that they'd be back in the sky scoping out other places to stay...

As concern rooted itself in Marcys mind the towns Mayor.. Uh.. Mayor Toads.. Toad something.. she was too stressed to figure out.. Came up to them and spoke..

"Well, it seems my townsfolk are all in agreement.."

She felt like she was about to start pulling her hair out, did they have to be all flowery with how they spoke? Just say yes or no!!

"You can stay in the Planters house while they're off and away."
