As I held him, I could feel my heart becoming less heavy in my chest and a new fluttery feeling took a hold. I pulled him back and let him sit criss cross in the center of my right palm.

"Veneer, I'm serious about you being a good person, if you weren't you wouldn't have let me go, even if you didn't I still understand that you are only doing what velvet wanted so she wouldn't hurt you." He said with such conviction and I couldn't help but maybe believe that what he said was true. I took a deep breath and answered back,

"I've been under Vel's thumb for so long, I don't remember who I used to be before. But I never let the fame get to my head like velvet, I mean she treats her fans like garbage just because she thinks they're beneath her." He nodded softly at my acknowledgment of her cruelty towards our fans.

"Yeah I saw that on the TV, I saw that she grimaced after she took a photo with someone, not to mention just because she grew up poor-." He laid his chin in his small indigo hand  and rolled his eyes at my sister's spoiled behavior.

"I never understood where that came from, I mean our parents were dentists, we didn't live as terribly as she thinks we did." I cut him off, I knew where he got that interpretation from, it was from one of our earliest interviews and she claimed that we came from nothing and had to beg for scraps.

Which absolutely wasn't true. We lived comfortably, we had food, shelter, clothing and everything we ever needed. My parents may have been neglectful towards me, but they absolutely spoiled Vel with everything she could possibly dream of.

But I guess our parents weren't enough for her gluttonous hunger for being loved and praised. She had to be famous and admired by everyone.

"Really?! That lying-" I saw his face contorted to anger as I could hear the rage in his voice.

"I know, I never understood it either."  He huffed out a sigh and looked around at my room decor, pale baby pink orangish walls with paler almost whitish floors, many photos gracing the walls along with pale gold fairy lights.

My room was minimalistic but it made me think of my two grandmas. They both adored me and-

That's it, I can go off to their house. Velvet wouldn't dare go near us if me and Floyd took a visit to my grandparents house. Velvet's terrified of the both of them, especially after she attacked me by strangling me in my bedroom,

The rage and fury those two brought upon my household after they learned that my parents had grounded me because of Velvet's jealousy.

I know the little guy would love it there, they love trolls and that's how Velvet found out about brozone. Grandma betty had left the television on and it showed their last concert.

"I have an idea on where we can go." I spoke up and his look screamed curiosity and enthusiasm.

"My grandmothers, they adore me so they'll definitely let me stay with them not to mention they love little trolls like you, they'll probably feed you cereal until you pop." His eyes were wide but shortly thereafter his face took a more determined look.

"Sounds like a good plan Veneer, but how are we going to save my brothers? I mean Velvet wrote that letter-"

"I can send them a new one saying that you're safe, so they won't be trapped by Velvet." He nodded at my interruption and smiled again with such a goofy grin I couldn't help the pale orange-ish pink flush that appeared on my face.

"I am curious about you, I mean I want to ask you so many questions." The indigo troll's voice became breathier and I felt a spark, but maybe that was my imagination.

"What's stopping you? I'm a bit curious about you too." He looked around and I could see the lights were illuminating the flicks of purple glitter in his magenta iris making his eyes look more ethereal.

His grape colored nose sniffed and he stilled. I stopped and rose a green eyebrow until I heard banging on my door.

That's why he stilled, I sighed; it was probably Crimp wanting to ask me if I wanted a cup of soothing tea. I quickly put him down and nudged him under the blanket.

"VEN! OPEN UP." Oh christ it was Velvet. I didn't hesitate to get up and quickly answer the door, I was surprised to hear her knocking at my door especially after I screwed up massively. When I screw up that bad in her eyes, she only bothers me because she needs a new song, dance or a new costume. But she only does that hours after I royally ruin things, not minutes after.

I open the door to reveal my sister who had her hair completely down without her infamous crown that me and Floyd were laughing about moments prior, she wore a pink nightgown with identical robe to mine but hers was a purplish pink and heeled slippers.

"Vel, what brings you here?" I could feel my voice shaking nervously from her presence so soon after a fight. I could only hope that she didn't ask to come inside because if she does and I didn't say yes she'd become suspicious of me. I can't raise her red flags yet, I need to get the both of us out of here first.

"First of all you beautiful idiot, thanks for losing that troll." I felt my chest twisting with the snide throw back of my secretive operation. I know I was beautiful to many but I wasn't stupid and that only hurt more especially since Velvet knows I was an A+ student in school.

"Um no problem-" I tried to answer back only to have her hand slam against my door frame making me flinch.

"That was rhetorical you useless moron." I nodded and let her continue, knowing I was walking on eggshells right now with her.

"Anyway, have you designed our outfits for the Conver festival yet?" She cocked out a hip and I nodded my head afraid to let my words tumble out my mouth, the more I talked the more her temper grew shorter with me. I walked over to my vanity and grabbed my sketchbook and handed it over to her.

Her eyes scanned the page and hummed in approval. I felt a breath of relief dance behind my clenched teeth. She handed it back to me,

"The Taylor will be here tomorrow, but tell him for my costume I want extra gold on it." I again nodded and she turned away from me and strolled off. I thank whatever stars are out there she only wanted to see what I had prepared.

My design wasn't too off from what I imagined for her, a shimmering pink holographic tube top with matching high waisted shorts with glittery thigh high heeled boots. On the shoulders I put diamond studded epaulets that dangled chains of miniature diamonds and from the epaulets hung a sheer white cape. It was truly perfect in my eyes but she wanted it to be gold and instead of pink and white.

I closed the door behind me and saw how the little troll walked out of the covers and took his place on my pillow. He had a grumpy look on his face which didn't take a genius to figure it's source.

"I can't believe she thinks she can talk to you like that." His voice became growly and I felt the warmth of a blush consume my face again, it wasn't every day that someone cared enough about my wellbeing and that brought stings of happiness.

"I know but it's not forever." I pulled back the cover and wiggled to get comfortable within its confines.

"Uh Veneer. Can I sleep next to you." Smiled at how shy he was being, he stood there awkwardly waiting for me and I nudged him closer to me with my finger.

As I was about to close my eyes, I felt him snuggling my nose. His body temperature was a nice gentle source of warmth. With a few more seconds after I heard his soft snores, I went unconscious.
