I gently press my hand against the window. It's snowing hard.

As I zone out into the loneliness of the empty office, I am watching myself being faded into the glimmer of the collapsing big city lights.

"Here you are!"

This voice belongs to someone who should be on another continent. I turn.

"I decided to surprise you." he caught my bewilderment "New Year wouldn't be the same without you."

I fear to move and scare away the fantasy I am obviously living.

He smiles coyly as in knowing how I feel and rushes me into a hug.

"I missed you, love. Let me take us home."
