Taehyung instantly jolted awake. He thrashed around as his legs struggled to free themselves from their linen trap. While one leg had loosened itself from its restraints, the other leg got tangled in the sheets, but he didn't care.

I only need one leg to get me out of bed, he thought until he fell to the floor within a millisecond.

Although hot with embarrassment, his mood quickly changed in the face of your horror. Despite drying yourself, water continued to drip, falling effortlessly from your chin to the deep neckline of your satin pajamas. Shaking, your hands continued to support your weight against the sink as you stared at the wall.

So much for staying out of magic, you thought. What just happened?

"I'm here. What's going on?" your husband uttered in total panic.

"I-I don't know. I was washing my face when something whispered in my ear. Someone...Someone was here, Tae."

He looked to where your gaze had been and looked back at you with widened eyes. Confused, he furrowed his eyebrows and scratched his head before looking behind him as if your paranoia had spread itself onto him. His bare chest rapidly rose and fell, filling and expelling great volumes of air.

"Are you sure? I didn't hear the door to the apartment open?" he asked.

"I know. He appeared out of thin air," you replied, and even more confused, he started to chuckle.

It was as if relief washed over him, his eyes softening. Oblivious to your truth, he assumed this was some elaborate prank to test if he was still the protective Taehyung even after marriage, but sadly, this was no prank.

"I know what this is. It's the exhaustion talking, bun. I mean, it is past midnight, and we did get married hours ago."

"Taehyung, I'm not joking. Someone was here," you pressed.

"Well, are you going to get to the part where you explain more? Who was this person?"

His closed-lip smile had fallen flat before he sighed. He really didn't want to believe you. Taehyung wasn't sure what kind of state you were in, but the last thing he wanted to do was argue with you hours after the wedding took place.

"You know what," he muttered.

Before either you or him could say another word, he moved out of the bathroom. He paced around the bedroom with determination in his strides, searching for signs that someone had broken in. The walk-in closet was the first thing he barged into, finding nothing but clothes hung on the rack and boxed shoes stacked neatly on top.

As he marched out of the bedroom, he made sure the balcony and the front door had not been opened. For minutes, he switched into detective-mode, analyzing the position of every object in the house as you followed him like a clueless partner.
