Chapter 2

"Lainaaaa" shout my grandma

"Yes, I'm coming" I replied

I got up to bed and go straight to the bathroom to wash my face

A cold water splash my face and I look blanky to the mirror aloft my sink. What a strange dream

I dry my face with a towel and go down stairs. My face instantly notice a box aloft the wooden coffee table along side with the my grandmother's Chinese evergreen in our living room.

I roam around to the kitchen looking for my mama and papa

"Oh laina you already here" Aunt Azon said

She wasn't really my aunt but i was used to called her that, just like how I called my grandma and grandpa mama and papa. She's like in my mama's age. Though they never look old they're still look very fine

"Aunt where are they?" I asked.

"They're outside talking to the mayor" she replied.

I go straight to our door, on the door in has glass in between it's side that is covered with curtains and a plant alow.

I sway the curtain I saw a man facing backward in me talking to my papa, they're having a serious conversation I see in how my papa's reaction

He always come here, I wonder what is there connection to the mayor and why does he always visit them. My papa's mood suddenly change what are they talking about? My inner gossipy acting up

"Lainnaaaaa" mama shout

"Azon is laina already awake?" Mama continued.

"I'm here mama" I said then goes straight to her

I notice that the mayor is bidding goodbye to my grand father.

Our house is big yet only four of us live here, regardless I never ask them anything.

"Hi darling" mama said and then hug me and kiss me in my forehead, I don't know we're used to it.

We sat down to our table, and so does papa while I'm grabbing the rice my mama spoke up

"You should be used to wake up early" she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Dear your in college, you are not highschool anymore"

"Mama I don't think it is needed"

I grab the the omelette and ham and put it in my plate and continue my words

"I would marry a successful man in the end" I continued.

Mama chuckled "silly, just eat vegetables " she said then put sweet potato in my plate.

We continue to eat and chitchats with anything that comes to our mind

"Hmmm papa why are you silent?" I ask in confusion

He was silent the whole breakfast

"You know dear papa just had bad morning, when your getting old. your also getting grumpy" mama jokely said

Three of us laugh

"See papa never let mama put you down " I chuckled.

"Darling, maybe I'm getting old but I'm indeed getting handsome as time passes" papa said and raise his eyebrows two time while looking at my mama

" I should have go, ant's are crawling into me" I said

Mama and papa chuckled.

"Laina, prepare cause where going to the school today " Mama's afterthought.
