I feel a content smile grow across my face as I push down on the button below my hand. I slowly close my eyes as the artificial world around me glitches away until I'm left in an empty void. Everywhere around me was dark aside from the occasional bright pieces of coding, the presences of the others having faded away too. I was ready to wake up with them. And, no matter what I face because of the actions of my counterpart, I'll face that future. If it has hope, or even despair, because it's the future I've fought for. And I'll continue to fight to keep it.
The Tragedy has affected us all, and the future of that post-tragedy is only the aftermath of our actions.
Our aftermath, filled with both hope and despair, is ours to have.
No matter what.
