THE NEXT CHAPTER: THE GRADUATE'S UNCHARTED PATH

Ibadan, my beloved city, witnessed the culmination of my educational journey. I am Abdul Mumeen Bello Ayiki with the popular sobriquet "Ayiki Oosha" an identity that resonates with my peers and carries with it a legacy of brilliance and determination.

Growing up in the vibrant neighborhood of Agege, I was the second child in my family. My father, an architect, and my mother, a successful trader, had high hopes for my future. However, my true passion lay in the fields of accounting and economics. Amidst my father's expectations, I made the bold decision to pursue a career aligned with my own dreams.

In 2017, I embarked on my educational voyage at the esteemed Polytechnic of Ibadan, starting with a National Diploma (ND) program in accounting. Within the hallowed halls of the institution, my brilliance shone brightly, earning me a reputation as one of the most exceptional students in my department.

As an insatiable seeker of knowledge, I found joy in sharing my understanding with others. It was during my ND days that my teaching abilities emerged. Students flocked to me, drawn by my deep comprehension of economics. I went beyond the role of a student, becoming a mentor to my peers and even surpassing the expertise of some lecturers. Witnessing the awe in their eyes fueled my passion further.

The completion of my ND program in 2019 marked a pivotal moment in my life. It was during my Industrial Training (IT) period that I faced numerous challenges, including financial constraints and personal setbacks. However, I refused to succumb to these obstacles. I worked tirelessly, taking up employment to accumulate funds to support my educational aspirations.

Upon my return to campus for my HND program, I noticed a transformation in my friends. They had grown both physically and financially, a testament to their hard work and determination. However, my journey this time held a different purpose. I sought not only academic achievements but also a chance to bring about positive change.

I embraced leadership roles within my department and faculty, serving as the Majority Leader and Chairman of Stakeholders. My influence among my peers grew, and aspiring candidates sought my endorsement, knowing that my support could secure their victories. Some affectionately called me "JAGABAN," while others still fondly referred to me as Ayiki Oosha.

My heart overflowed with a desire to give back. Generosity became a part of my nature, extending beyond financial assistance. I would selflessly offer my last penny to a struggling student, believing that goodness should be shared. I often emphasized that the ability to give was not a learned trait but a divine gift bestowed upon a chosen few by God.

The path of politics was not without its challenges. I made both friends and enemies along the way, as my unwavering commitment to my passions often attracted envy and misunderstanding. But I remained steadfast, determined to stay true to what I loved.

As President of the Great Fellows Club 2022/2023, I left an indelible mark on the organization. Skillfully administering the club, I elevated its fame and reputation to new heights. Even past leaders acknowledged my remarkable accomplishments, paying tribute to my leadership and willingness to make sacrifices. I firmly believed that the moment I embraced the presidency of a non-profit organization, I realized I was born to lead—a calling I fulfilled with determination and excellence.

Now, as a proud graduate of Accounting with an HND degree, I reflect upon the person I have become. My journey was not solely about academic achievements but about the impact I made on others and the personal growth I experienced. The transformation from a brilliant student to a compassionate leader is a testament to my character and unwavering commitment to my principles.

Stepping into the next chapter of my life, I carry with me the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and an indomitable spirit that propels me forward. The uncharted path that lies ahead is filled with endless possibilities, and I am ready to embrace them all. With a firm belief in my ability to shape my own destiny and make a lasting difference, I venture forth, Ayiki Oosha, the embodiment of determination and success.
