Hymn to the Holidays

By BrianMullin0

There is a song that breaks its silence,

A hearty wassail that hellos in wonder;

A Carol that spills out its cadence,

In peals of tintinnabulating thunder.

It's a joy that's contagious and catchy,

And sticks to you just like super glue!

Makes you don sweaters gaudy and scratchy,

And send cards and a present or two.

And it's good will to everyone: hers, hims and xems,

As we travel the roads to our own Bethlehems.

All of us are branches on humanity's tree

Though our looks, creeds and ideas vary widely.

Sing out, sing out, in voices trained or amateur,

Deck the halls from Da Nang to Denali

Peace be with you, and Love make your heart pure

And Laughter each day keep you jolly.
