Sagekit was born in an old fox den just on WindClan territory. She can't remember who she heard that day when she was born, but she knew it wasn't who everyone thought was her mother. She never said anything.
When she was a kit she loved listening to the elders' stories and playing badger attack with the other kits.
Her mother, Silvermoon, fell sick with greencough. Before she died she said this: "Sagekit.. it's time I told you the truth.. I am not your mother.. Moonsong is. Please... forgive me.."
Sagekit at first didn't believe her. Moonsong was a ThunderClan she-cat.
Her mother knew what she was thinking and said this: "I should have told you this sooner.. you're half ThunderClan.. your real father is Eclipseeye.. he... died.... to s-save... you.... f-from...."
She stopped speaking.. she was coughing so much Sagekit saw some blood.. not much though.. a minute later Silvermoon fell totally limp. Her shallow breathing told Sage kit she was still alive, but wouldn't be for long.
"All cats old enough to run on the moor, gather to hear my words!"
