The missing fairy (Lyney x Aether)

Chapter 1.

"Paimon! Paimon! Ok. You proved me wrong! You won. Just come out." Aether shouted as he was looking for Paimon. But she didn't seem to be somewhere near him. "Paimon, come on! You're starting to scare me!" He continued but Paimon still gave no answer. "Ok stop that!"

Aether continued to look around for the floating fairy. The reason he is looking for her was because he told her that Paimon wasn't good at playing hide and seek. So they decided to play a round but Aether got a bis sceptical after searching for Paimon for over 20 minutes now. "Paimon please! I believe you. Just come out!" He shouted while walking around Fontaine.

"Ohohoh! What do we have here? A traveler as beautiful as a rainbow rose- oh? Someone seems troubled. Anything the matter Aether?" Someone called out. As the traveler turned around, he saw no other than the great magician of Fontain himself. "Oh no. Nothing's the matter Lyney. I'm fine." Aether answered. "Don't lie to me. I can see your troubled face. And besides, something, or better, someone is missing. So tell me what happened." Lyney said while starting to sound concerning about Aether.

Aether sighed and then started to explain. "Paimon and I had a little argument about her skills at hide and seek so we made a little bet to see if I was right or wrong. Everything started alright, I counted and heard her floating away to hide. After the usual 30 seconds of counting I started to search and realised that she was actually pretty good at hiding but after 5 minutes I got a bit concerned and now it has been 20 minutes but still no signs about her. And what if she is missing and it is my fault because I started the bet and-" Aether stopped and his eyes started to tear up.

"Hey hey! Calm down Aether! It's fine. Come here and let your old friend give you a hug." Lyney said and before Aether could answer, Lyney already pulled him into a tight hug and didn't let him escape.

They stayed like this for a good few seconds before starting to speak again. "How about this. I let you stay with me for the night and tomorrow we can search together. Maybe Lynette and Freminet also have time to help us. What do you think? Deal?" Aether hesitated at first. "Come on. That way you can save the money and don't have to pay for a hotel AND we can spend even more time together. No bad intentions at all." Lyney spoke again with a smile.

"...Sure. But only this once. And only because I can't afford to lose more time." The blond traveler answered. "And...thanks for letting me stay. I really can't afford to spend mora for two people in the hotel even tho it is only me." (Just pretend that everyone knows that it is always the duo so he always has to pay for the both of them.)
