Charlie woke up burrowed into her aunt's sofa bed, her head laid comfortably on a pillow. She looked around confusedly for a minute, rubbing her drooping eyes. Oh. She had forgotten that her parents were caught two days ago, finally losing custody of her. She had chosen to move in with her Aunt Beverly, because she was the only nice person In the family other than her cousins. She had also, apparently, been moved to a new school, but she forgot the name and there was still a week of summer break left. In her neighbourhood, there were about 11 houses in a line and hers was right next to a girl called lily. She quickly grew interested in Charlie and demanded they become friends, which Charlie agreed to, and took her to the mall. The girl got up to stretch before turning on the TV and going to make herself some breakfast.
