A few days have passed by ever since me and h/n spoke. And in a lot of the classes we have together, I always catch him staring at me in the corner of my eye.

I can tell he wants to say something but he won't come up to me, and I will NOT go up to him.

Kate wasn't here today, so I had to eat lunch alone. It was kind of embarrassing but I didn't really mind it. I was eating peacefully until I saw someone sit right across from me. I looked up and it was "Lorelei?" I say confused.

"I don't think we have met before, I'm Lorelei." She says as she puts her hands out for me to shake it.

I was confused that people our age still even shake hands.

"Oh hi Lorelei, I'm y/n" I say as I shake her hand.

"Why haven't me and you ever talked before? I see you all the time, I'm pretty sure we have a decent amount of classes together." Lorelei says as she picks up some food from her plate.

"Oh idk, I just dont really talk to a lot of people haha." Y/n says kind of awkwardly.

"Oh well that makes sense, well I think that you are very pretty and we should totally hang out sometime!" Lorelei says as she picks up another fry.

"Oh yeah sure, that would be fun ig" I say forcing a smile.

(Idk what it is about her that I didn't like, I mean she is so nice, and also she literally has never really done anything bad to me)

Lorelei takes her phone out of her pocket and hands it to me.

"Here, put your number in my phone and we can talk sometime after school. Only if you want to ofc." She says.

"Ok! That sounds good to me." I say as I put my number in her phone.

As I am handing her phone back to her she says "Do you wanna call tn? I'm free for a couple hours."

"Well I'm pretty sure I am free all afternoon today so yeah sure, that would be good for me." I say with another forced smile.

"See you then!" Lorelei says as she picks up her tray with one hand and waves goodbye with the other, amd walks away.

I wave goodbye back.

For some reason ever since the last time me and y/n talked, I, for some reason can not stop catching myself staring at her.

But today in the lunchroom when I saw her, I also noticed that she was sitting with Lorelei, and they exchanged numbers.

I was really surprised when I had seen them talking. From the beginning of elementary school, y/n always brought up how she didn't really like Lorelei but ig times have changed since then.

When I got home I decided to just go ahead and do my homework early since I had quite a lot. I was about finished with homework and I decided to check the time it was 6:32, I hadn't realized how late it had gotten and just as I was about to text Kate, Lorelei called me.

I got kind of startled by the perfect timing of the call but I almost immediately picked up. I was really nervous but I hope Lorelei isn't dry over FaceTime.

Lorelei- Hey!! I'm surprised you pick up so fast what are you doing?

Y/n- Hi! Well actually I am currently about to finish my homework, but I'm stuck on this math question, and photomath isn't working.

Lorelei- Oh, I actually just finished that paper, hold on I will give you the answer. And don't worry, I was stuck on that same question for like twenty minutes haha.

Y/n- Oh really? Thanks I really appreciate it.

Lorelei- Oh it's no problem.

Twenty minutes have gone by and me and Lorelei haven't really stopped talking and we actually have a lot in common.

Lorelei- Ok, Ok enough with the boring stuff. Sooo, who's your crush at school? If you have one.

Y/n- Haha, I really don't really have one. I am not really focused on dating right now or anything similar to that, if that makes sense.

(There was no way I am gonna tell her how I have a crush on h/n right now, or probably never)

Lorelei- Yeah I mean that makes sense. Well.. if you wanna know I actually have a really big crush.

Y/n- Haha, omg tell me.

Lorelei- Well I guess I have around two crushes, one of them is David I haven't talked to him but he's in my social studies and you cannot tell me he's NOT fine.

Y/n- no wayyy, David? That's insane

Lorelei- oh hush he's not even bad. But my other one is h/n, he's my main crush. He's actually so cute and we talk sorta all of the time but he really doesn't seem interested in any girls, like ever. So I don't really think I have a chance.

(How did I not see this coming..)

Y/n- Oh well actually he's my neighbor, I don't think he's not NOT interested in girls I just don't think he's really looking ig.

Lorelei- Oh, well that's too bad. Do you think he will start to look one day and choose me?

(Oh this girls delusional.)

Y/n- haha, he fs will choose you, your gorgeous who wouldn't choose you Lorelei. But hey I got to go, sorry dinners ready. I really enjoyed our talk.

Lorelei- Oh me too, maybe we can talk again sometime soon, your really cool to talk to, bye!

Y/n- bye!

Dinner wasn't actually ready, my parents weren't even home yet. I just kind of felt myself feeling upset when Lorelei told me about her crush on h/n. But all in all, Lorelei doesn't seem too bad.
