-KING ROAN-

"the queen is dead. long live the king!"

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Sairah quietly walks up to Roan and his mother as the two stare at each other for a little longer. When Queen Nia decides to walk away, Sairah takes this as her cue to reveal her precense. "Roan."

The said man twirls around in one swift motion. His eyes furrow at the girl. "Trikova." He smirks. "Is the shadow hunter stalking me?" Roan's smirk widens. "Or just the Commander's second?"

"We need to talk." Sairah mutters.

Roan shakes his head at her. "We have nothing to talk about." He keeps his eyes locked on the girl for a moment longer before clearing his throat. "I need to prepare."

Sairah grabs his wrist before he can walk away. "I know you had nothing to do with Mount Weather." She sighs. "This is what your mother wanted all along."

Roan squints his eyes at her before pushing her hands off. "What do you want? Spit it out, Trikova."

Sairah looks around before taking a step closer to the man, her face just inches away from his. Roan clears his throat at the sudden closeness. "I want you to become the king." Roan's eyes widen at this. "I know you've thought of it. She was willing to let you die, willing to let you be banished." Sairah looks him in the eyes. "I know you just want to go home."

"When i win today, i will." Roan mutters. He moves to turn around, but Sairah grabs his arm once again.

"For how long, Roan?" She fires at him. "How long until your mother finds another reason to cast you out, to sacrifice you?" Sairah watches as Roan lowers his head, deep in thoughts. "No one can cast a king out of his kingdom, Roan."

Roan shakes his head at her. "I can't do it-" He sighs. "my people would never take me back..." Sairah closes her eyes at this. She turns her head, ready to walk away, but Roan stops her. "But- i can help you do it."

Sairah smirks at the man's words. "I'm all ears."

"We're going to need the almighty Wanheda." Roan mutters.

Turns out that the plan to kill the Queen of Azgeda failed because of Nia's second, Ontari, who is also a nightblood. When Clarke poised the blade and wanted to make an oath by blood, Ontaria stopped her by warning the Queen about the poison. Nia then drew blood from Ontari's palm and smothered Clarke's face in it.

Now, as Sairah stands in the room with Lexa, Clarke and Titus by her side, she fears all her hope is lost. The only way for Lexa to stay the commander is for her to win the conclave.

Titus touches Clarke's face, his eyes moving over the black blood. "A commander from the ice nation? Now all of Nia's provocations make sense, and we played right into it." He walks closer to Lexa with furrowed brows. "She knew you would accept her challenge."

Clarke steps closer to the duo. "I've never seen blood that color before."

"Goes back to the first commander." Lexa mutters. "When a nightblood child is found, they're brought here to be trained by the best-" Lexa shoots Sairah a look. "- or supposed to be."

"Your legacy is no longer secure." Titus speaks up. "There is still time to choose a champion."

Lexa shakes her head. "You know i can't do that."
