Monday. A day hated universally by all. Students already wearing tired faces from just entering the school grounds. It was a hassle. The year was almost over, and they'd have winter break soon. Aizawa explained to his class the layout for the winter break exams. Surprisingly no one spoke up or interrupted him. They had grown up quite a bit from the rowdy set of kids he had to keep on a leash.
"On this you will scored just as any regular exam, however if you fail there will be supplementary classes during the winter break. I'm sure you all want to go home don't you?"
The class nodded in response.
"Then study hard, so you don't fail. That's all" he said as the bell rang for lunch break."Finally, I'm hungry" Mina said closing her book.
Izuku got up and headed towards the cafeteria with his friends. It was rather a surprise, hearing that Jirou and Kaminari had started dating, with the yellow haired boy being teased about it. He looked at Momo, who smiled softly at him, but her smile seemed to drop ever so slightly as Uraraka sat next to him. It wasn't much, but he was always one to notice the smallest things.
He glanced at his friend beside him, a small blush forming due to how close she was to him.
They talked about their exams, and someone brought up tutorials. Momo immediately volunteered, she liked teaching her friends, it was her own way of adding something to the class.
"I definitely don't wanna be stuck in school when everyone's gonna be out for Christmas" Mina said shivering at the thought."Then we best get ready. Study hard and we'll pass with flying colors" Iida said encouraging them.
Izuku chuckled at how robot-like his friend was at times.
The school day passed, and the class went straight to the dorms, well all except Izuku who had to drop something off at the library.
"Yes. I would like to return this book" he said to the librarian.
The woman collected it and thanked him. He bowed and left the library, bumping into Momo on the way."You're not with the others?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I was looking for study material, we're having a tutorial tonight" she responded.
They both headed towards the dorm, but taking slower steps than they usually did.
"... Izuku ... ?"
"Hmm?"
"Nevermind" Momo said, her voice losing volume.
"You can talk to me if something's bothering you" he said reassuringly.
"I know, I have something on my mind, but now's not the time, or place to say it" she said.
They got to the dorms where their classmates were waiting.
"Dude where were you guys?" Mina asked.
"Library" they both replied, before laughing.
It went far better than expected, and most of them got the lessons pretty well. It was getting late and everyone headed towards their rooms.
Shoto stopped Izuku before he could leave."Can I have a word with you?"
They were now alone in the common area. Shoto sat across him, with a neutral expression."What's going on between you and Yaoyorozu?"
Izuku blinked in surprise and asked a question of his own"What brought that up?"
"I've noticed over the past week. You two seem to have some tension between you" Shoto said.
"I guess you noticed" Izuku said chuckling."Do you like her?"
Izuku looked thoughtfully.
"I'm ... not sure how I feel. I mean I still have feelings for Uraraka, but now that Yaoyorozu is in the mix, it's all jumbled up. I still need time to figure things out ... I know this must be awkward for you, knowing that you have a thing for her" Izuku said looking down. Shoto suddenly burst into laughter, surprising Izuku."What gave you that idea?" he asked in between laughs.
"I mean I've seen you two interact, and I've heard Mina talking about it many times. It just never occured to me that I should ask you about it"
Shoto laughed again.
"You got the wrong idea. The truth is ... I actually like someone else, and she was helping me express myself properly"Izuku's eyes widened in shock.
"Who?"Shoto smiled and looked up.
"That's a secret for now, but on a serious note. You have to make up your mind, both of those girls are our friends, and they themselves are friends. Taking too long might just destroy their friendship altogether" the ice user said getting serious.Izuku nodded, and Shoto left him there to his thoughts. He was right. His mind couldn't be roaming around at a time like this, he had to be certain.
They were both great people. Uraraka, bright, bubbly personality, an open vibe to her. And Momo was matured, level headed and very accepting, though their demeanors we're almost complete opposites."Wait ... was that what she meant?" he asked himself mentally, was that it?
He left the question hanging over him. There was only one person that could answer that question, Momo herself.
As if by luck said girl came downstairs, and was surprised to see him there."You're not asleep?" she asked.
"I was thinking some things over, and my mind's still not made up" Izuku replied in a lower tone.
"Anything you can tell me?" she asked sitting next to him.
He swallowed the lump in his throat, then spoke up."It's ... about the question you asked my that day"
Momo looked at him with curiousity, and a bit of worry
"What about it?""You were referring to yourself, weren't you?" he asked shocking her.
She looked down, not able to answer.
"Look at me ... Momo. I want to know what you meant by that" he said tilting her head up.
She saw the seriousness in his eyes, and conceded. He had caught on, not that she was surprised."Do you really want to know what I meant? Izuku?" she asked seriously.
Izuku nodded, but really didn't see what happened next coming. Momo leaned forward and kissed him softly before pulling away.
"There. That's what I meant. I know I can't have you, not when Uraraka is here, I'm a terrible friend, and a selfish one at that. I'm sorry for everything" she said getting up.Izuku grabbed her by the arm stopping her from leaving.
"I think ... It's part of being human. We aren't perfect, and everyone has the right to be selfish, so ... you did nothing wrong" he said with a smile.Momo pushed him down and straddled him, as they locked lips again ,this time Izuku kissed back.
His arms travelled down her body, sliding over her smooth skin. He flipped her over so he was on top, and then dived back in again.
The need for air was what finally broke them apart. They both remained motionless, panting heavily."What ... just happened?" she asked. Izuku sat up looking at her.
"... I don't know ... "
Unbeknownst to both of them, they weren't there alone. A piece of paper was floating in mid air, and it dropped slowly to the floor.
"This isn't good" Toru thought to herself.
