"He looks at her like he just realised what love is," Tyrion remarked, observing his older brother's distant admiration of me.
"He seems more like he's nursing an unhealthy obsession," Bronn commented, eliciting a grumbling response from Jaime.
Curious, Jaime inquired, "What do you think she finds so amusing?" His eyebrows furrowed with a faint frown as I laughed beside Jon. I patted Jon's shoulder with one hand while the other rested on my stomach, steadying my laughter.
"She finds humour in everything," Tyrion explained, while Bronn nodded in agreement. "Today, I held a door open for her, and she smiled at me as if I had just offered her a choice from a litter of kittens," he chuckled.
Tyrion chuckled, exchanging a conspiratorial glance with Bronn as they noticed the evident infatuation in Jaime's eyes. "Looks like our dear Jaime here is in the grip of something more potent than wildfire," Tyrion teased, taking a sip of his wine.
Bronn, always quick with a quip, added with a sly grin, "Obsession, thy name is Jaime Lannister who knew the Kingslayer would fall harder for a woman than he ever did for a crown?"
Jaime shot them both an exasperated look, attempting to maintain his composure. "I'm merely appreciating her company," he defended, though the slight flush on his cheeks betrayed his true emotions.
Tyrion raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "Appreciating, you say? I've seen men appreciate art in the royal court, but I don't recall them looking like they might compose sonnets with just a glance."
Bronn chimed in, "And what's with that dreamy expression? It's like you just discovered a hidden stash of gold in your chambers."
Jaime scowled, trying to divert the attention away from his newfound emotions "You two revel too much in mischief perhaps you've had a bit too much to drink."
Tyrion smirked, leaning back in his chair "Oh, we're quite sober, my dear brother it's just that some of us find our entertainment in observing the peculiarities of love or should I say, the peculiarities of being hopelessly smitten?"
As they continued to jest, Jaime couldn't help but roll his eyes, though a small, affectionate smile played on his lips. Deep down, he couldn't deny the truth in their words. Love, it seemed, had found its way into the heart of the once unyielding Kingslayer.
"Jealousy, it seems," Jaime remarked with a wry smile. "At least I don't find myself reaching for coins every time I seek a woman's company," he added swiftly, relishing the satisfaction as the tables turned on the men. Now, both wore a scowl, realizing the irony of their banter.
"She's making her way over," Bronn announced with a sly grin, causing the smile to evaporate from Jaime's face. He straightened up, attempting to maintain a sense of composure, but the sudden shift in his stance resulted in a clumsy, awkward display that elicited stifled laughter from Tyrion and Bronn.
As I approached, curiosity etched across my face, the trio exchanged furtive glances, a silent agreement hanging in the air. Tyrion, always quick with words, decided to seize the moment, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Well, my lady, we were just discussing the intricacies of love and affection," Tyrion greeted with a charming smile, his words carrying a hint of playful flirtation. Unbeknownst to me, Jaime shot daggers at Tyrion, a silent warning in his gaze, but Tyrion remained unfazed.
"Oh, were you now?" I inquired, my attention shifting from one man to another.
Bronn chimed in, "Yes, and we were just admiring the unique ways people express their affection some prefer grand gestures, while others," he glanced meaningfully at Jaime, "find subtlety to be more their style."
Jaime, on the other hand, struggled to conceal his growing frustration, his eyes locked onto Tyrion, silently daring him to tread carefully.
Bronn, ever the opportunist, seized the moment and extended a gallant bow towards me. "Would you do me the honour of a dance?" he asked with a roguish grin, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
To Jaime's dismay, I accepted the invitation with a smile, completely oblivious to the brewing tension, Jaime couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "You don't want to dance with a man like him."
I shot him a disapproving look, "Jaime, that's mean, Bronn is just being friendly." I then turned my attention back to Bronn, leaving Jaime to grumble in frustration as Bronn shot him a wink.
Tyrion, always observant, leaned in with a sly grin. "Jealousy looks good on you, brother it seems you've forgotten that subtlety you were so fond of."
Jaime scowled but couldn't deny the truth in Tyrion's words. As they watched Bronn and I twirl across the makeshift dance floor, Tyrion continued, "You're quite smitten, aren't you? It's written all over your face."
Jaime sighed, "I don't need you pointing it out, Tyrion."
Tyrion chuckled, taking a sip of his wine "Oh, but I do enjoy pointing out the obvious, love makes even the mightiest warriors vulnerable"
Their eyes followed the couple, and Tyrion couldn't resist a teasing remark, "Perhaps you should learn a thing or two from Bronn about the art of wooing after all, subtlety doesn't seem to be working in your favour at the moment."
"You talk an awful lot" Jaime grumbled but couldn't help a reluctant smile. As the dance continued, he found himself caught in silent contemplation of his feelings, realizing that perhaps his stoic facade was slowly giving way to the undeniable truth of his affection.
