Almost everything in jail told Jeremy that him and his friends didn't belong here. The cell contained musty grey walls,rusty metal bars, squeaky clean toilet and sink, and a glossy floor. His friends sat on the floor in complete silence as they waited for their parents to pick them up.

"Nice going, Jeremy," Joana mumbled as she lifted up her head from her fist, "You practically ruined our whole summer by getting us arrested by the damn police."

Tears threatened to come out of Jeremy's eyes, but he refused to cry right in front of them. He honestly and truly wanted to make up to them for all the mess he got them and himself into. As he continued playing with his nails, a lightbulb began to flicker. Him, Jeremy Joey Bollard, figured out how to make their worst summer into a summer that they would never forget.
