Jisung headed to his studio where he produced all his music. He had a manager but he thought of all his songs and created it all by himself. So, most of the time it was just him sitting there for hours.
It was another boring day. He was just thinking of a new song that he could make, putting ideas on a piece of paper in front of him. By the end of the day, around 8pm he had finished half of the lyrics. He went over it one more time before packing up and taking the elevator downstairs. Everyone in the building had head home already leaving him by himself. When he got out, opened the front doors, hearing heavy rain fall on the ground. He looked up and saw grey clouds that covered the sky. The lamp posts barely made any light. He groaned internally.
He opened his phone and checked if he could get a cab, suddenly hearing a voice. A familiar one. One that made him want to run away and hide forever.
"Wasn't expecting rain?" The voice was smooth like honey, so calm and gentle. There was no sign of disappointment or resentment through it. It slipped out so easily and made jisung's legs weak. Just like it always did. "Good thing I have an extra umbrella."
Jisung saw the tip of the umbrella through his peripheral vision. He put the phone away and stared at the ground, bowing deeply and taking the umbrella.
"Jisung..don't act like we're strangers. Please." Jisung lifted his head, meeting Minho's eyes. The same ones he fell in love with years ago. It still shined brightly. He still shined brightly.
He looked older, but still very handsome. He had dyed his hair a deep violet, and he wore glasses now. He seemed taller and more muscular. His voice had gotten deeper as well. "Have you eaten yet?"
"Uhm..no, not yet.." Jisung mumbled.
"Can we go try this new Korean place? It's not far." Jisung just nodded, making Minho smile. Jisung swore he could've melted right then and there, even if it was freezing outside.

The two entered the restaurant, being welcomed by a waiter then sat down at a table near the corner. It was quiet and only a couple people were eating. They ordered their food pretty quickly, leaving them in awkward silence.
Minho now took in how skinny jisung looked. He had eyebags and thinner hair. Though his cheeks were still the same, he had lost some muscle and a lot of weight as well. He also noticed Jisung didn't get a lot of food.
"How have you been? Life in New York?"
"It's uh..been a rollercoster to say the least..how is everything back home?..is it-,is it going well?"
"Yeah, I'm stable."
Jisung nodded slowly, clearing his throat. "Did you come here with Felix and Seungmin?"
"With some other friends too." Minho smiled, "just for a vacation. But I guess Felix and Seungmin had other plans. They met with you already?"
"Yeah..we just had coffee." Jisung sighed. Their food came out shortly after and they ate in silence. Jisung saw Minho's glances but chose to ignore it.
-
They spilt the bill and waited under the awning. It was still down pouring and very cold. Jisung stood awkwardly next to Minho, covering half his face with the scarf around his neck. "So..I guess- I'll get going.." Jisung opened the umbrella, holding it over his head. Minho just stared at the younger.
Now Jisung saw it. The disappointment.
"Can I-, can I get your number? Maybe we can..I dunno, talk sometime?" Minho let out a sigh. Jisung nodded and put in his new phone number in Minho's phone. "Thanks.."
"Yeah.." Jisung sucked in a breath and started walking away, keeping his bag close to him. Minho stared at his figure, getting darker and smaller as time passed.
Though, he smiled. A warm one that jisung couldn't see. Finally, he finally found Jisung.
