Chapter 37 - 7 Weeks later

Esme's POV

It's been 7 weeks since we found out I was pregnant. My pregnancy had gone smooth so far minus the odd occasions of sickness and the feeling of having our pup kick at the strangest of times is beyond belief that I'm carrying our baby.

I have 1 week left of my pregnancy and I'm so scared and nervous now! I have Jaxon and Robyn as my birthing partners which is a relief. Robyn's like the mother me and Finn never got. She's given us both the same love she gives her boys and it's so warming for us.

"Jax...what time do you think you'll be back tomorrow?" I ask him because he's away at our old parklands for the night sorting out some problems that Aloha Dylan has been having. I can't say I'm not okay with it because despite down not. My parents will probably be there too and asking for updates on me and Finn...thankfully no body from that pack knows of our baby and I will be glad for it to remain that way! I don't want them barrelling in my life now that I have a reason to live and be happy I won't let them ruin it!

"Most likely mid morning princess. Dads coming with me so we can get it all over and done with quicker but moms staying here"

"Okay that's fine! Just remember...no one knows of the baby and no one will ever know. Even if Elizabeth and Thomas ask about us"
I don't even call them mom and dad anymore. That's how little I think of them.

"I know baby I know. I have to get going now we've got a drive ahead of us now. I will call you this evening okay"

I sigh because there's no point in asking him to not go. Granted he's been here since the last time he got back from going to another pack, he sent some of our warriors and Charlie to go instead and it's been a good outcome but this time there pack specifically asked for Jaxon...

" I know baby. I've got some work to do this afternoon anyway so can I use your office to do it? I can't exactly crouch on the floor anymore cause pups huge.."

He laughs at my request. I know he will say yes he is always trying to get me to sit at the desk but I always refused. My back now just can't hack sitting on the floor or bed without it hurting.
"Course you can princess. Anyway be careful, stay out of trouble and I love you"

"Hmpf...when do I ever get in trouble. That's your job" I say with a laugh myself. "But I love you too. Be careful and don't let them be dicks to you okay"

After walking him and Jacob to the car I make my way back inside to the nice smell of flapjacks.
"Robyn?"

"In here darling. There's a fresh batch of chocolate flapjacks here for you to take up to the office with you if you want"

"Oh I want! I so want. Thankyou so much"

Hours pass by and I haven't checked my phone as I have been swamped in the last of my duties and sorting out times for Jacob to meet with some other pack members. And also the welcoming ceremony for some packs who have had nowhere to go, one woman: Katie she's 23 and has a daughter who's 4 and she will be having her official pack greeting 3 weeks from now, once she's become stronger in herself and has had an opportunity to enrol her daughter Maya into our infants school so she can start her education. Both of the girls came here looking rough and scared as well as starved. She's slowly opening up and she has found her mate here...Nate, one of our warriors but she won't look at him or speak with him. There's a knock at the door and I now only realise that it's tea time and I'm so excited.
"Es. Come and eat please. Naomi is giving me shit because you didn't show up for lunch today so save my ass will you... my soon to be wife is expecting you or my ears will no longer be attached"

I laugh at his dramaticness and it warms my heart to the fullest. His son Elijah was born 2 weeks ago, he was premature but he was a good weight they didn't need to do much for him, my brother has not left his side since he was born and not only that but he always makes sure Naomi doesn't lift a finger until she's ready to do so and it just reminds me of Jaxon...my Jax who I wish was here with me now.
