TARAJI
Returning to the States brought a mix of emotions as I settled back into my Cali estate. Tonight marked the prestigious Oscar awards, an event that stirred a hint of nervousness within me. The prospect of facing Fantasia, her husband, and even Oprah loomed ahead, and I couldn't shake the anticipation of whispers and talk that might unfold.
Nevertheless, I was on a mission, determined to navigate the glitz and glamour as if I'd never left. The Hollywood buzz surrounding the Oscar night added an extra layer of tension, and I braced myself for whatever awaited me in the dazzling world of fame and recognition
I decided to host a small brunch today, bringing together a group of talented and inspiring young ladies, including Gabi, Halle, Phylicia, and a special invitation extended to Zion. I recalled Fantasia mentioning how Zion, despite living independently, tended to keep to herself, and it sparked a desire to help her break out of her shell.
As we gathered, I couldn't help but think back to the days on the set of "The Color Purple" when Fantasia shared stories about Zion. Wanting to provide her with connections and a chance to socialize, I saw this brunch as an opportunity to introduce her to Halle and Phylicia, creating a space for camaraderie and bonding.
In an attempt to mend any lingering tension between Fantasia and me, I sent over a bouquet of flowers, silently hoping she received the gesture positively. Tonight's Oscar awards promised an encounter that held a mix of excitement and apprehension, wondering whether the olive branch I extended would be enough to bridge any lingering gaps. Only time would reveal the dynamics that awaited us.
ZION
I hesitated for a moment before knocking on Taraji's door, my nervous excitement evident in the way my fingers fidgeted with the hem of my shirt. The door swung open, revealing Taraji, who exuded a welcoming aura despite her petite stature. I couldn't help but marvel at how much shorter she was compared to her mother.
