Chapter Twenty-Nine: Rollercoaster

I walked over to the seat Joe Jonas had for me on B stage, right near him and his brothers. The opening act at this show was Niall Horan, one of my favorite singers. While I wasn't a Jonas Brothers girl as a kid, I was hugely a One Direction girl.

    I texted Joe: Niall is amazing.

    He responded: I know you'd love it.

    I sat there and then looked out to see that Tessa bought a floor seat. I talked to the manager and asked that Tessa join me up here. One of them walked over to her and they brought her up here, sitting right next to me.

    She looks at me and then the view I just gave her for the concert. The other girls were jealous and mad, but it's their business. Not my problem.

    "Hey, Tess." I said.

    "Don't call me that," She replied. "You still need to pick up my stuff. It's been at my place for a month."

    "I brought you up here because I wanted to say sorry," I shouted over the music. "I'm sorry for everything!"

    Tessa rolled her eyes and then looked at the concert, clapping Niall from every song.

    As the Jonas Brothers started singing I Believe, which was primarily a Nick song to sing, Joe came over to my side of the stadium and kissed me, taking a photo of us together. I could see some people recording and Tessa was folding her arms, staring at us while this was happening.

    "Seriously, Jess?" Tessa asked me.

    "I can explain everything!" I shouted.

    Joe Jonas started to walk away and perform to the other side of the stadium. The first thought running in my head was 'I miss my best friend' and not the contract, so as she's watching the concert, I turned her body to me and I looked right at her.

    "What?" Tessa asked me.

    I took a breath. I know I am going to breach the contract, but I really don't care. I could get sued for all I care. My best friend was more important to me.

    "I'm probably going to get sued for this...probably," I answered her. "But my relationship with Joe is completely fake!"

    Tessa's eyes widened and then she looked out at Joe, flirtatiously waving at him. Joe waved and then blew me a kiss as he was doing his little childish cute dances.

    "So, your relationship with him isn't even real?" Tessa asked me. I sighed and nodded.

    Life went a little bit back to normal after revealing to Tessa that my relationship with Joe was fake. Months and months of keeping it from her fell off my chest and I felt so great. Tessa looked at me and then hugged me. She started to sing the lyrics to Rollercoaster at me. Rollercoaster was the only Jonas Brothers song she would play in the car that I would scream the lyrics to.

    "It was fun when we were young and now we're older!!!" Joe started to sing, belting on the 'older' part of the song.

"Those days we were broke in California!" I shouted at Tessa and she had the biggest smile on her face.

As the song finished, I looked at Tessa and she was smiling all over again. I looked at her and then looked down at my signed shirts. I remember asking the brothers to sign two shirts before every performance, one for me, and one for her. That was, in case she ever became my friend again.

"Nights, flying down ten, nearly two AM..." Nick finished the song. "Happiness begins."

The audience roared and then I stood up and cheered as well. After that song, Joe came back to my side of the stage and he kissed me again. This time, Tessa didn't make a fuss about it. She chuckled and so did I. She knew my secret and life felt back to normal. It felt back to the way it should be.
