That day barely ended in peace, not only students were still startled by what happened to Derek, but they also dealt with more of those strange phenomena before and during class sessions. From hearing soft knocking on doors and windows, to pitter pattering in the males' bathrooms, even to shoe lases getting tied together by unknown means. The teachers and workers of the school were getting fed up with all of those pranks, decided to investigate the problem, and declared that the responsible for those pranks would get the most severe punishments ever. The culprit laughed silently and said to himself: "What good is it to give a punishment to what cannot be harmed? You're very silly.".

By the end of that day, Simon and Theodore told Dave about what happened during school, as well as what Kevin said about the presence of a ghost. Theodore was scared, but Simon wasn't really phased out yet, and Dave didn't buy the idea that ghosts could be real. When dinner time ended, the two chipmunks already went to their beds. Well, the youngest one refused to sleep far from Simon, so both decided to sleep together on the same bed since Dave told them that he needed some time for himself.

In a late hour of that night, in Seville's house, one man remained awake. Not due to some commissioned scores or preparing for important stuff, but Dave could not sleep after he found the family album. His guilt became in the worst state possible after realizing the album was full of images of himself and his remaining chipmunks but was lacking pictures of Alvin. He then remembered the time when his long-gone chipmunk told Dave that Simon and Theodore were his favorites and that he always saw him only as the no-good misbehaving one, and seeing how he treated him and barely seeing any good from him made him cry silently. He was very tired but he couldn't just sleep as if he didn't realize how much he failed to be a good father to Alvin, he was able to only lie down and stare at the roof. "What have I done...?" The broken-hearted father asked himself. "Alvin, I wish you forgive me... In a way, I was responsible for your death..." He gave in to silent cries, he felt like something tore his heart out within each second passed.

Even though his eyes were dried out, Dave's pain didn't go away as he kept repeating his apologies in a hardly hearable voice, hoping that Alvin would hear him and, for whatever reason, forgive him. All of a sudden, a voice spoke out near him, the same voice that the sad man thought he'd never hear again.

"There's nothing you should be apologizing for, dad..."

Dave jumped out the moment he heard that voice talking, but soon settled down thinking that he was only hallucinating due to exhaustion. But that didn't last long when he heard the same voice saying: "You're not hallucinating, and you're not dreaming either. Although you could use a long sleep, you look like you didn't close your eyes for centuries." Dave was now shocked, and what made him more shocked was how familiar the voice was. It was the voice he didn't hear ever since that damned day. With a shivering voice, he managed to let it out one word: "A-... Alvin?"

· Alvin: Yeah, Dave. I am glad you didn't forget my name.

· Dave: *Looking around* Wh-Where are you?

· Alvin: What? Oh yeah, I forgot it takes a while for a ghost to appear to the living, gimme a moment.

· Dave: G-Ghost? I-If you're a... That means-

· Alvin: All the weird things happening here and in school were my doing, sorry about that, I wanted to have some fun. And don't worry, I harmed nobody, except bullies. Especially Derek, he wanted to beat Simon and I couldn't just watch that happen.

Dave couldn't speak any other word, and couldn't believe that he was speaking to the ghost of his dead chipmunk child. He closed his eyes, hoping that he was either hearing things or was in a bad dream. However, the moment he opened his eyes, he saw him standing next to his bed; Alvin Seville, with every feature of his body being gray and eyes devoid of color, stood there looking at his father with concern and sadness.
