"Girl you hear bout that back to school drive" my friend lyric asked me

"Um no what we need from a back to school school drive we seniors if anything I'll give them all of my old supplies"

"It ain't about the supplies this rapper from here supposed to be having it and I wanna go see him"

"Lyric be serious a rapper from Tallahassee?  you bound to run into him at the corner store"

"Girl he not one of the sound cloud boys he actually got potential and I wanna be able to say I met him before he got big"

Lyric showcased her bright smile before ending the FaceTime call she kills me

3:10pm

"You know what I might actually go get me one of the little kids book bags"I said eyeing the people giving the children bags and school supplies

"Ok you do that I'm gonna try and find him he posted that he was out here"

"Ain't no way you this geeked to see some boy but do you just meet me back here when I text you"

Lyric nodded her head and walked away and I went towards the table to get me a book bag

"Which bag you want babygirl"

"Can I get the mini mouse one and I don't need any supplies"

"I got you"the lady said giving me the bag "now you enjoy your school year"

"Thank you"I smiled and turned around to walk away

"Youn think you too old for that kinda bag"I heard a boy say and I turned around to face the voice

"Leave her alone she wants the bag she can have the bag"the lady that gave me the bag said pushing his shoulder

The boy just laughed showing his deep dimples

"Ney ney I'm just asking she bout my age trynna rock mini mouse"

"You want the bag back or something I can just go get one from Walmart if it's a problem"

"Nah you good I'm messing with you what you a senior?"the boy quickly dismissed my comment on giving the book bag back

"Yes I'm a senior"

"You know we doing a raffle for the older kids if you win you get $200"

"No I didn't know about that"

"Come wit me imma get you put in it imma be right back ney ney"

The boy nodded and walked around the table to me

"Come on it's in the building"

We walked into this nice sized building that had a few people inside and food

"Why yall ain't say anything about having food in here got us got out there starving" I made my way to the food grabbing a plate

"We did you must Ain't see the flyer how you find out bout the drive"

"My friend she said something bout a rapper was hosting it and she wanted to see him"

The boy furrowed his eyebrows and looked me up and down

I simply nodded and turned around to make my plate filling it with a few pieces of chicken and macaroni&cheese

I looked up from my plate trying to see who was calling my name

"It's me Makayla girl you moved and switched schools then forgot all about me huh"

"Oh my gosh hey girl I'm sorry"i said giving her a side hug

I took my phone outta my purse and texted lyric so we could meet up once the text sent I grabbed my plate off the table and headed back outside

I'd been inside for about 20 minutes and it was way more people and kids outside than before

"Mm where'd you get that plate"lyric said walking up to me

"Inside the building did you meet the boy"
