Nobody's POV:
"Domain Expansion: Self-Embodiment of Perfection!"
...
A domain expansion– the one thing that couldn't happen under any circumstances. The one technique that if implemented, would inherently spell their doom.
Staring at the flashes of hands and the barrier of the domain being encased around Nobara Kugisaki, his beloved friend, caused everything to go black for a moment. He stood there in shock after crying her name... then,
Itadori woke up inside of his mind.
...
...
...
Three months.
It had been three months since Yuji Itadori left it all behind and took up a greater calling. Three months since his grandfather's passing... three months since the day he swallowed Sukuna's finger and altered his fate.
During these three months, he had undergone change like no other. Apart from the physical changes that automatically came with harboring Sukuna and the introduction of cursed energy to his body, he had gone through a complete mental transformation. Before everything changed, he was carefree, happy-go-lucky... content with everything.
Sure, it was a boring and unfulfilling life. Sure, he didn't have many friends and his popularity was solely because of how physically gifted he was. Sure, he felt a pit of loneliness going through the same motions alone, every. single. day.
But it was normal.
It was an ordinary life.
Reminiscing back, eating that finger was basically him signing his death certificate. It pulled him into the world of Jujutsu Society and the war between sorcerers and curses.
Although it would be a death sentence in the literal sense, it had brought new meaning to his life– meaning that he so desperately craved.
The amount of new friends and mentors that he had met, all the new things he had learned and done up until now. He could've never anticipated any of it as that dry and scaly finger slid down his throat that fateful night.
It was just what he needed to refresh his soul– a life filled with purpose.
...
However, on the contrary side of the spectrum laid his morality. He was introduced to the notion of killing.
In war, as Nanami had said, was the doctrine: Kill or be killed. That was the contract all Jujutsu Sorcerers signed upon entry.
There were no ifs, ands, or buts, just black and white, like Kugisaki had explained to him. It was a sad and scary way to live, one could even say it was borderline inhumane– but isn't that what all wars are?
Not to mention, the horrid things one sees out there on the battlefield. The dismembered bodies– the foul stenches of those corpses and the cursed spirits themselves. Your friends and comrades being torn to shreds in front of your very eyes–
That was the scariest part, as Gojo had expressed to him. Watching your loved ones die in front of you, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually– every possible way. Itadori knew that he would have to face this solemn reality one day. That was one of the many sacrifices a Jujutsu Sorcerer had to make in order to continue their work as one.
...
Junpei...
It was sad, because he thought he had more time.
