Addy didn't think twice before throwing the van doors open, slamming them behind her, blocking out Kirby's protests. She ran over to where she knew Sam, Tara and Bailey were. She caught up with them as they running, and fell into pace beside them.

"My friend Danny works on the Upper West Side! He can get there quicker." Sam was saying. She had to look twice when she spotted Addy, but decided not to argue with her.

"Yeah, or he could finish her off. Is it possible he's the killer?" Bailey called from behind them, and Addy turned briefly to glare at him.

"We have to get there now." Sam said, ignoring him.

"It's 50 blocks away. We don't even know if it's true." Bailey tried to reason, and Sam and Addy slowed down to argue with him, whereas Tara kept running, "Sam, wait! Take a minute."

"We don't have a minute." Sam yelled back at him.

"You have to trust me, we gotta make the right call."

"How do we know you're not the killer and just trying to distract us right now?" Addy challenged him, crossing her arms defiantly.

There was the sound of a car horn beeping, and the two women turned to see Tara in Bailey's police car. "Get in."

Addy and Sam ran to the back of the car, Sam placing her hands on Addy's hips to help support as she climbed in as she climbed in behind her.

This is not the time to feel like this, Addy scolded herself in her mind, but the stupid butterflies in her stomach wouldn't go away.

"Hey. Hey, get out of my car!" Bailey yelled, "What do you think you're doing that's an official vehicle, hey!"

"Should we use the sirens?" Sam asked, placing her hand on Addy's thigh to help herself lean forward.

"Did you really think we would steal a police car and not use the sirens?" Tara replied, turning them on.

"Do you even have a license?"

Addy pulled on her seatbelt, and Sam mirrored her, but then the older woman turned to the blonde, her expression grave.

"Addy, you were supposed to stay in the van." She scolded quietly, and thankfully Tara was too busy trying to navigate to Gale's apartment to hear them.

"Sam, Gale isn trouble, of course I was-"

"Yes, but you were supposed to stay in the van. That was what we agreed on, and you disobeyed!"

"Disobeyed? You're not in charge of me, Sam, and neither is Kirby, in case you've forgotten."

Sam sat there, momentarily stunned, until Tara stopped the car and climbed out, Addy following after her. They made their way as quick as they could to Gale's apartment, and thankfully the door was already unlocked, and, when they entered, Ghostface was on top of Gale, about to stab her.

"Hey, fuckface!" Sam yelled, grabbing Gale's abandoned gun and shooting at the killer, who ran away. Sam ran after them, but he had disappeared.

"Gale." Tara said, looking over to see Addy putting pressure on Gale's wounds, the blood pouring out too fast.

"Oh, shit. Gale?" Sam said, bending down beside the older woman, putting pressure on a different wound. Gale groaned as Addy applied more pressure, and the blonde kept apologising, trying not to let the tears spill.

"I should've known that he was gonna come after you." Sam told her, "I'm so sorry."

"He didn't get me." Gale told her, "Tell Sidney, he never got me."

Gale's eyes shut, and the panic in Addy rose.

"Gale?"

She didn't answer.

"Gale, please."

The tears were flowing freely now, streaming down Addy's cheeks.

"Gale, wake up, please."

The sirens outside were getting louder, and, soon enough, a team of paramedics burst through the door, telling them all to move. Sam and Tara got out of the way, but Addy didn't move, still waiting for Gale to wake up and tell her it was all a joke.

She felt Sam's hands around her waist, pulling her away. She fought her, trying to get back to Gale, but Sam wouldn't let go, pulling her closer, their argument earlier seemingly forgotten.

She had left her mother too easily, she wouldn't make the same mistake.

"Sam, no, I can't lose another mother, Sam, please..." Addy's voice was overtaken by sobs as she fell to the floor, allowing the paramedics to take Gale away, Sam keeping hold of her all the while.

"They've got a pulse, Ads, she's going to be okay." Tara said, placing a hand on Addy's shoulder. Addy cried even harder this time, but out of relief.
