The hunt with a little sister

(John bs pov) (A

I am skipping writing them all on the porch cause I'm lazy so this is gonna start when they are in big John's office)

I unlocked the door to my fathers office and walked in I put the keys down on the table and put Blake in a chair with my phone to watch

I grabbed a pin board and put it on the table "here look this is the original owner right here" I say pointing to a picture

"Okay Robert Q routledge 1880 to 1920" kie read "there's the lucky compass there"

"Actually he was shot after he bought it" I explained "then the compass passer on to Henry,Henry was killed in a crop-dusting accident when he had the compass after he died the compass was given to Stephen Stephen had the compass with him when he died in Vietnam"

"Let me guess he died in action?" Jj asked

"Sort of" I replied hesitantly "actually he was killed by a banana truck in country after that Stephen passed the compass down to him my dad"

"Sounds like there's a reoccurring theme here" jj states

"Yeah um you have a death compass" pope states

"I do not" I denied

"Seriously did you need to get rid of that thing it's cursed and it's made its way to you" jj said

I walked over to where Blake was and picked her up and sat in the chair she was in and place Blake on my lap I didn't want to believe my dads compass was a death compass

"Look my dad used to talk about this compartment in here soldiers used to hide secret notes" I say messing with the compass and finding somthing written on my dads handwriting

"What's that?" Kie asked spotting the writing

"That's dads handwriting" I said

"How could you know that?" Pope asked not believeing it

"Because he does these weird R's" I said showing him the compass 

"Can I see it?" Jj asked I hand him the back of the compass

I heard Blake whine from my lap "bubba phone!" Blake said it must had ran dead

"It's dead Blake" I say taking the phone "here play with this" I said giving her a toy that had been left in my dads office

Jj was trying to read the word but he couldn't read cursive

"It says redfeild" kie said

"Right" jj said acting like he knew what it said

"Okay well what's redfeild?" Kie asked

"Beside the most common name in the county" pope snickered

"Mabey it's a clue?" I asked as Blake was trying to get my attention showing me her toy and how it works

"A clue come on that's-" pope said doubting the entire thing but kie clears her throat and must have gave him a look witch made him switch "but if it is a clue mabey it's an anagram?"

"Yes! Perfect!" I said getting up out of my chair holding Blake getting a peice of paper and giving him a blank paper "you need paper here"

"How can you concentrate with that thing crowing at you?" Pope complained

"Blake and jj love the rooster" I say 

"I love the rooster!" Kie commented

While the other three did the anagram I brought Blake over with me and sat her on top of the table to try and figure somthing out

Blake was looking out the window and seen somthing

"Bubba" Blake said patting my shoulder I thought she was just trying to show me her toy again

"Not now rose" I said rose was Blake's middle name I would call her every once in a while

"Bubba who dat?" She said now grabbing my shirt and shaking me

I looked up and seen she pointed outside I looked out the window and seen a black truck pull up

"Guys" I said but they never heard me "guys! Somebody's here"

They finally listens and comes to the window

They two guys got out of the truck and we noticed it was the guys that had shot at us and mobbed Lana grubs.

"Guys guys" kie said panicked "is they them? Is that them?"

"John b I told you why does it always-" jj ranted but I cut him off

"Jj hey look at me" I pinned him to the wall "where's the gun?"

Blake seeing everyone panicked got her upset she started to whine "bubba? What's goin on"

Kie picked up Blake and put her hand on the back of her head so Blake layed her face in the crook of kies neck

"Gun I uh" jj said not remembering where the gun was

"Now you Don't got the gun the one time we need it" kie said trying to stay calm

"It was in the back pack" I said "it's on the porch" 

Jj ran out to get the gun but it was to late he ran back into the room and closed the door

"There on the front porch" jj said

"Routlege" a man screamed

"The window!" Kie said as i stood infront of the door

Jj and pope went to opean it but couldn't

"Its painted shut okay?" Jj hissed at kie who was panicking

"Hold blake" kie said giving blake to jj and went looking for somthing

She found knife and stsrted to cut at the paint

They finally reached the door and notice it was locked and started kicking it

Me and pope started running from the door as they kicked and broke it

They finally got the window opened kie was the first one out jj handed kie blake and she decided to hide in the chicken coop

We all followed i shut the window behind me and barley made it into the chicken coop

Kie was sat beside me with blake on her lap trying to keep her quiet

"Let me see her" i said as she let me take blake from her

Blake was crying from everything going on and was overley tired

"Hey hey blake its okay" i soother holding her tight strokeing her head and back

After a few minuted i hear silence from blake and just a few hiccups and sniffles from her as her face was in the crook of my neck

I was so busy calming blake down all i see is jj snap the roosters neck to make it shut up

I seen kie start to quietly sob next to me i put my hand on hers comfortably

I heard the guys drive off and we all climbed out  we talked for a bit and i thought of a placs where my dad meant by redfeild so we loaded in the twinkie and left
