The summer between my 5th and 6th year was hard, after my father had discovered that I didn't want to take over the family business last December he practically went mad. The more he pushed me to join my brothers the more I rejected the feelings that were shown to me, I ended up leaving home 2 weeks before school started. I knew I needed to escape home. This was the only way I could think of, I ended up at the leaky cauldron and spent most of my time there. I mainly stayed in my room, Tom tried to contact me multiple times but I never responded. I wasn't ready to talk to him, not after he had betrayed me.

I entered my second last year with little expectations of what would happen in the next few months, with my brothers gone I was more vulnerable to an attack from an outsider if they saw me for who I really was. As I sat on the train I began to think about what my life may lead to if I really was to join my fathers clan. I knew that Tom and Matteo were now one of my fathers followers. It was over the summer that I had come to learn my fathers real plan for his children, his plan had pretty much consisted of him brainwashing us into joining him. He had gotten to Matteo first and then went after Tom, he had been initiated over Christmas when he joined them at the last meeting. I on the other hand was much more difficult to convince, I haven't joined yet and I don't ever plan on it. Mother was surprisingly understanding of my situation, she knew what it was like to be pushed around by my father. She tried to convince me to see where he was coming from but I refused in fear that this was another one of his tactics. While making my own observations about my family I was quickly able to realize that Dumbledoor was right, war was coming and I needed to be prepared. My thoughts were soon interrupted by the door in my train cart opening, it was my friends who asked if I was okay. Apparently my face had given them a fright. I ended up telling them what happened over summer. They were shocked but could understand why I ended up at the leaky cauldron for the last few weeks of summer. We sat in silence most of the trip until Abaccy said that she was bored and left to get a snack. For the few minutes that we are alone Jackson questioned me about my father. He said that he was concerned for his little sister and didn't want her to end up like JoJo,

"..Melodie? Do you think that your father will ever actually come to Hogwarts? I mean I'm sure that he will eventually come back but do you think that we will at least be out of here before he comes?"

"I think that the idea of him returning is certainly plausible, why?"

"No reason I was just curious."

He became silent so I dropped the topic, soon enough we were at Hogwarts. We sat and waited for the newcomers to be sorted. It was then that Dumbledore took to the stand and began to speak,

"In light of these dark events I must say that every guest in this Hall will be welcomed back here at any time, should they wish to come. I say to you all, once again - in the light of Lord Voldemort's return, we are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. Lord Voldemort's gift for spreading discord and enmity is very great. We can fight it only by showing an equally strong bond of friendship and trust. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."

It was a quick speech but it meant quite a lot coming from a person who gave me the chance of a lifetime to finally become something I'm not.

I had just finished eating dinner when I realized that I hadn't gotten my schedule on account of me leaving home before school had started. I tried to talk to Dumbledoor but he was busy. Professor Macgonagall told me to come back tomorrow morning when he wasn't busy. I left and headed to bed. Abbacy said she was surprised that my letter never came to the leaky cauldron considering that's a wizardy spot. She then questioned me on how I had gotten my school supplies, when I told her I never went shopping she was surprised considering I was one of the best students. The next morning I woke up and headed directly to the headmasters office, I knocked on the door and waited for it to open
