As Seungmin combed out the knots in his hair, Hyunjin leaned forward, revealing his neck. The duke's son looked up, meeting his eyes, and something in the depths of those noir oceans made Seungmin's heart skip a beat.

There was an intensity there, a longing that he had never seen before. It was as if Hyunjin was saying, without words, that he felt it too. That they were meant to be together.

And so, as they sat there by the stream, the sun warming their backs and the sound of the water gently lapping against the stones providing a soothing backdrop, Hyunjin took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to ask the question that had been burning in his heart for so long.

"Seungmin," he began, his voice barely above a whisper, "would you ever consider... sharing the throne with me?"

Seungmin's heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, he couldn't speak. He looked into those dark, depthless eyes, and saw not only love but also respect and admiration. He knew that Hyunjin was offering him more than just a partnership in ruling the empire; he was offering him a life of unconditional love and acceptance. And in that moment, Seungmin knew that he could not refuse.

"Your Majesty," he replied, his voice steady despite the racing of his heart, "I would be honored to sit on the throne beside you." And with those words, a weight seemed to lift from both of their shoulders.

They looked into each other's eyes, and in that instant, they knew that they were meant to be together, not just as rulers but as partners in every sense of the word.

Their wedding a year later was a grand affair, celebrated by all who knew them. The empire was at peace, and the future looked brighter than it had in generations. And as they stood before their people, holding hands and promising to love and cherish each other until the end of their days, Seungmin couldn't help but think that he was the luckiest man in the world.

They were indeed meant to be together, and nothing could ever change that. Not even the forces of history and politics that had brought them to this point. For Hyunjin and Seungmin, their love was the only thing that truly mattered, and they would spend the rest of their lives proving to each other, and to the world, that they were meant to be.

One afternoon, as they were taking a stroll through the palace gardens, Seungmin found himself engrossed in conversation with some of his old friends from the knighthood. They had all been demoted after his marriage to Hyunjin, and they were discussing the old days, reminiscing about the adventures they had shared. One of them, an old friend named Jaehoon, nudged him and said, "Hey, I've always wondered. How did you end up marrying the emperor?"

Seungmin chuckled, a warm, genuine sound. "Oh, you know," he said casually, waving his hand in the air,

"I guess I'm just the prince charmer."
