THERE WERE RUMOURS. Rumours of a virus being developed, a virus that would take over your body and kill anyone — or anything — that crossed its path. Despite all of the rumours that were spreading around, specifically, the ones made that claimed the virus was being developed to kill the overgrowing population — the real reason was to gain a broader understanding of neuroscience, and with the information from the research conducted, create drugs and medicines to develop treatments for degenerative diseases and injuries.
The scientists who conducted these experiments and studies kept as much as they could secret, in fear that the members of the public would react badly to the news. However, it was seen by the scientists as the greater good, trying to help out the world. Their main focus was trying to understand the manipulation of the brain function, whilst also trying to create medicines to regenerate dying cells.
The scientists tested their experiments out on small animals, specifically rats and mice as the rodents share some characteristics with humans, both biologically and physiologically.
However, when the rumours started, the scientists began to panic. Their work became sloppy, and more mistakes were made.
