chapter 1 - no surprises

The cab driver pointed to his meter as I took out my wallet and gave him the amount to pay off the ride

I got out of the cab as the driver did too as we both headed to the truck of his cab as he opened it and gave me my luggage as I shook his hand

Y/N - thank you

? - no problem kid, I wish you well for your future

I smiled at him, waving goodbye to him as he drove away. I looked at my phone standing on the curb, looking up and down at my phone upon the place I was told to be at

Y/N - I think this is the right place

An apartment complex in front of me was headed towards the second floor of the complex since I was going to move in. More specifically, some person's place. I was gonna be in college in a week and my college was more further away from my home, so my parents thought it would better to just move closer to the school instead of just crashing at my friend's place every week going back and forth 5 hours from mine to his since his place was like an hour from the college.

I scratched my head but eventually put on a smile as I texted the person, who I met on a social media website since they were putting up an empty room of theirs in their apartment which coincidentally was like 10 minutes away from the college and I figured. Hey it's close, and even better. They weren't putting up expensive numbers to stay in the room, and I'll get a job too. It'll be fine.

Walking inside the complex, I thought to myself

"46 if I'm right"

I walked up the stairs which headed upstairs, holding my luggage in my hand with my backpack obviously on my back. Ended up in a long hallway as I looked at the door numbers before settling on 46

I took a deep breath as I knocked on the door as I heard a faint "coming!" from the inside.

Funny enough, I actually don't know their name, or their gender. Could this be a bad idea?

The door knob turned as I put on my biggest friendliest smile as my eyes with my new roommate and the good owner who gave me room which, soon turned into eyes of shock as we stood looking at each other

Y/N - Min-Jeong!?!?

Win - Y/N!?!?!?

We pointed at each other like in the usual fashion we used to do as kids as I dropped my luggage on the floor as I did hold it with the hand which I used to point at her

Win - You're my new roommate?!?!?

Y/N - You're the owner!?!?

We put down our fingers as she suddenly looked like she was snapped out of a trance as she squatted down and picked up my luggage as I watched her do it as she grabbed my arm

Win - come in! The other tenants will think we'll look crazy!

I just nodded as I entered her place which was technically ours now? She drags me to the couch as I dropped my bag to the side as she put my luggage to the side as she suddenly hugs me

Win - hey! It's been a while hasn't it?

I was surprised by this as I half ass gave her a one hand hug as she smiled at me

Y/N - yeah it has

Win - how have you been?

I looked at her, still as beautiful as I remember, but unable to let out my voice as I just looked at every inch of her face, remembering every single part of it, now older. Since the last time I saw her was years ago. Well, in the way I could remember.
