The wound of pain,
It is a deep and lingering ache
It's like a knife twisted deep inside
The pain is a heavy burden
The pain is a hurt that feels endless
It's a constant reminder
That we are wounded, that we are afraid
That we are not invincible
That we are not perfect
That we can be hurt in ways that we never expected. But there's always hope for healing
There's always a chance for recovery
The wound may always be there
But the wound will heal
And the wound will be a scar
To remind us of what we have survived
To remind us of our strength
To remind us that we can heal.
