I decided to do a mix of both!
Characters- Ash and Arielle
〡Ash's POV 〡

This takes place in a fantasy world with your favorite mythological creatures!

Ash sighed. Everything was tiring now. They were going through a war, because apparently two people of different kinds couldn't be together. The ruler of The Eternal Fire kingdom's daughter had run off with a person of a different kind. Ash could care less about the war, all he cared about was that his family was safe.
"Ash!" His mother called. He got up and walked to the living room, where his mother was. She was sitting on the couch and she looked really stressed.
"Why did you call me here?" Ash asked. His mother was just a human. There were many kinds of species, but humans had to be the most boring one. Ash was a human just like her.
"The War of Fire and Ice is getting closer, I want you to take your sister and run." Ash froze. He knew the war was getting closer, but at this rate? His younger sister, Kara, was only five. She didn't understand what 'war' meant. He needed to protect her.
"What about you?" He asked. He was scared. Terrified, even. He knew why she asked him to take Kara instead of telling them they were all leaving.
"I can't risk slowing you down. Please, take her and run. For me." Her eyes were full of sadness and fear. Ash couldn't imagine leaving- this was his home.
"Okay. I'll get ready." Ash mumbled. He didn't want to leave. But he had to protect Kara.
Ash kept packing. He had a ton of food- but would it be enough? He had blankets, a tent, canteens, and anything needed. But he didn't know if he was ready. He was scared, he didn't want to leave. But they had to go- now. He went up the stairs and knocked on Kara's door. She opened the door. She was holding a plushie- it was her favorite. Ash bent down and held her hand.
"We have to go, okay? Are you ready?" He asked. Kara nodded her head. Ash led her downstairs and to their mother.
"I love you both so much, promise me you'll be safe." She said as she hugged Kara. Kara started crying. Ash had explained why they had to leave.
"And Ash, take care of her for me." She said as she hugged him. She let go and handed him a backpack full of everything he would need.
"I love you." Kara and Ash said as they walked out.

〡Arielle's POV 〡
Arielle was a wanderer. She wasn't on either side of the war- but she delivered messages back and forth. You could say she was a messenger. Arielle was currently in the desert- She was a shapeshifter, so she shifted into a bird to travel faster. She became an Ospery- she didn't get as hot, and she could fly. Arielle loved traveling. It was why she also loved being a shapeshifter, she could travel anywhere in the right form!
Arielle flew. She flew for miles, and then- then she saw people. Two people, they both looked human. Quickly she dove down and landed.
"Ack! Shoo!" One of them yelled. The one that yelled was larger than the other one. Arielle transformed into a human. She rolled her eyes. As a human, she had brown hair and eyes. The one who just told her to 'shoo' had dark brown hair and bright green eyes. Hm... I'm betting that his name is either Emerald or... okay, I don't know what else.
"Who are you and why are you in the desert?" Arielle asked. The smaller one, who she presumed to be his sister, was hiding behind him.
"I'm Ash, that's Kara. We're in the desert because of the war, we're running. Who are you?" Ash asked. For miles around them, all there was, was sand. They had no clue where they were going- they were heading west, and the only thing west was more sand, then the ocean.
"I'm Arielle."
And that set in the event of a story of forbidden love.
"The only thing west is sand and sea."
