The Assistant looked at the vitals on her monitor and then back to the Subjects in the Observation Room. She scanned the faces of the Subjects until her eyes fell on a face. She knew who it was. She knew this was risky, altering the Experiment, but she rechecked the vitals and shielded her screen with her body. Although knowing this could jeopardize her cover, she clicked a few keys. She watched as the entrails of one Subject spiked rapidly, fell flat, then returned to normal. She hoped no one noticed.

"The Experiment is well underway," the Assistant reported, "We are almost ready to launch Operation Salvation."

"Good," the Scientist replied, "This can end in one of two ways... either this will be very successful, or everything will fall apart."

The Assistant nodded; she knew this would be tough to watch. The Experiment was a brutal undertaking. It would be impossible to deal with, considering she... Not now, she scolded herself, stop thinking about that and get back to work.

She turned back to her screen and initiated phase one.
