Never give up on the things that make you smile

Right now, you have just arrived at a café to grab some lunch and chat with Maeve over Zoom about her potentially becoming your manager.

"Hi, how are you?" you say smiling.

"Good, you?"

You take a sip of your coffee "Good, thank you for... video calling me? And I'm sorry about when we first met. I was..."

"Wasted? Yeah, you were, but I did meet you in a bar, so it would be even more weird if you weren't like me." Maeve laughs.

You laugh with her. "Well, I have some questions for you."

"Yes, of course. What are your questions?"

"Okay, so if you were my manager, what would you do?" you ask politely.

Maeve leans in, taking a thoughtful sip of her own coffee "Well, first things first, I'd make sure your schedule is well-organized and manageable. We need to balance your work and personal life, so you don't end up feeling overwhelmed. It's crucial to maintain a healthy equilibrium."

You nod, listening.

"Next, we'll work on building your brand and image. I'll collaborate with you on the kind of projects that align with your goals and values. We want authenticity, not just what's trendy." Maeve continues.

"That makes sense. I want my work to reflect who I am." you says nodding apreciating her approach.

"Great. And, of course, I'll handle negotiations and contracts, ensuring you get what you deserve and that your interests are protected."

"That sounds fantastic. It's reassuring to know I'll have someone looking out for me."

"Trust is key in this business. Now, what are your expectations from me as your manager?"

"I guess I'd want someone who understands my vision and helps me achieve it. Someone who's not just focused on the business side but also cares about my well-being. And, of course, someone who can act the crazy rollercoaster that is the entertainment industry." you say thoughtfully.

"I can definitely do that. I believe in fostering a close, trusting relationship with my clients. It's not just about business; it's about supporting you in your journey." Maeve says while nodding.

"That's exactly what I'm looking for."

"Perfect. I'm excited about the possibility of working together. You know, I've collaborated with many individuals, and not to sound boastful, but there's something truly exceptional about you. While most people in this industry are solely focused on chasing wealth, using me as a mere 'money maker,' your approach is refreshingly different. When I began this journey, my goal was to help individuals achieve their dreams and create genuine stars. Unfortunately, many lose sight of their dreams as their primary focus shifts to monetary gains. However, you're a rare gem. You possess the qualities that can transform you into a genuine STAR. From this moment forward, I'm going to refer to you as 'Star.' And mark my words, the world will too."

You smiling, feeling a mix of gratitude and excitement "Star,' huh? I like the sound of that. It's refreshing to know that you see beyond just the financial aspect and truly believe in nurturing dreams."

"Absolutely. Now, speaking of dreams, let's dive into your creative vision. What are the projects that ignite that spark in you?" Maeve says enthusiastically,

"I've always been drawn to projects that challenge the status quo, that have a deeper meaning, you know? I want my work to resonate with people, to leave a lasting impact." you say eagerly.
