Sometimes I wish I could go back in time

I snapped awake to Piper and Jason screaming.

We spiralled through the dark in a freefall, still on the dragon's back, but it's hide was cold. His ruby eyes were dim.

"Not again!" Leo yelled. "You can't fall again!"

I could barely hold on. The wind was stinging my eyes and my hair was whipping around my head.

"Jason!" Leo called. "Take Piper and Lottie, fly them out of here!"

"What?"

"We need to lighten the load! I might be able to reboot Festus but he's carrying too much weight!"

"What about you?" Piper called back. "If you can't reboot him-"

"I'll be fine!" Leo yelled. "Just follow me to the ground. Go!"

Jason wrapped an arm around Piper's waist and then Piper wrapped her arms around me. We undid our harnesses and, in a flash, Leo was ripped from view, now plummeting below us.

Below us I saw Leo's small figure wrestling with the controls of the dragon while it slowly turned up into more of a steep glide.

I turned back to the others only to be greeted with my face mere inches from Piper's. I quickly turned back to look at the dragon.

We followed the dragon towards a white mansion with snowy lawns and a tall brick fence.

Then spotlights along the fence fixed on the dragon, blinding me for a moment then I heard bursts like tracer fire and a sound like metal being ripped to shreds.

My eyes widened as I tried to blink the spots out of my vision.

I felt our descent slow and my feet touch the ground. I stumbled still trying to get my eyes to adjust.

Someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back to a stable standing position. I blinked wildly as the spots began to dim and fade out of my vision.

Piper stood in front of me with tears in her eyes. "We need to go find Leo." She said quietly. I nodded and followed her towards the wreckage of the dragon.

Jason was kneeling next to a figure, curled up on the ground, covered in mud and snow.

Piper jogged over to them and kneeled next to Jason. They spoke to each other quietly for a moment while I kneeled on the other side of the boy.

I rolled him over so he lay on his back and put a hand on his forehead. I frowned. "He's a son of Hephaestus, right?"

The other two glanced up and nodded.

"Fire-user?"

They blinked and shared a look before nodding.

I sighed and sat back. "Good, otherwise his temperature would be incredibly worrying."

"Are you a doctor?" Jason asked, frowning.

I tilted my head. "No. I'm a daughter of Hecate who specialises in potion-making and healing."

Piper still had her stare fixed on Leo. "Healing? So, you're basically a doctor?" She smiled up at me.

I furrowed my brows. "Someone's said that before." I muttered.

Sea-green eyes flashed before my vision. Annabeth was laughing.

I blinked. "Percy said that to me."

Piper grinned. "You didn't flicker but you remembered! That's a good sign, right?"

"I'm not entirely sure." I muttered.

I checked over Leo's head for injuries. "He hit his head pretty hard, I have some things for a headache."
