apathy

I was engulfed in flames, my soul scorched,
While you approached, complaints so forcibly torched.
In the midst of my agony, you reveled in the ashes,
Unaware of the pain, the searing slashes.
My fire consumed, a relentless blaze,
But your words, like ice, left me in a daze.
I burned with passion, with a love so true,
While you stood there, oblivious, in your own subdued.
The contrast between our worlds, a chasm wide,
As I burned in anguish, you brushed it aside.
Your complaints, like daggers, pierced my core,
Leaving scars that ache, forevermore.
