"I'M GOING TO GET MORE DRINKS," she had to shout at her friends so that they could understand her through the loud music. Her friends nodded and continued enjoying themselves.

As Soleil walked over to the table where the drinks were being prepared, someone else joined the group. He approached the group with a cautious smile and everyone was shocked to see him as he wasn't someone who usually attended a party.

"Hey, everyone. Mind if I join?" he said and Evan laughed and pulled him close to the dance floor. "Look who decided to socialize, come on in."

Pandora and Julie exchanged amused glances, while Barty raised an eyebrow, "Regulus, attending a party voluntarily? This is a rare sight." he spoke.

As Caius said his words, Soleil entered the picture again with a bunch of cups in her hands, "Never thought I'd see the day. What's the occasion?"

Soleil's eyes narrowed as she spotted him, she gave her friends the drinks and ignored his presence. But she couldn't be quiet, as she spoke, she looked away, "Probably just seeking attention." her tone sharp.

Regulus bristled at her comment, but couldn't ignore how good she looked, how she always looked too good. "Can we not do this right now? I'm just here to enjoy the party."

She scoffed, and finally met his eyes, "Oh sorry, please enjoy the party, Regulus." She smiled at him, but it was clearly a fake one, because it was followed with a scoff.

His jaw clenched at her attitude, "I apologized, what else do you want me to do?" The friends just stand there awkwardly and stare at the couple, "I don't know, maybe not being here and running my night." he stares at her and decided to be either quiet or use his chance of talking to her, "I'm not the one who is doing a scene." but he didn't want to destroy the evening for her. He turned to the others, not letting Soleil speak, "I'm going to get myself a drink." he walks past her but she needed to be the one with the last word.

"Great, don't drown in one." She said, before she walks away from the group over to her cousin. "Well this was awkward, wasn't it?" Evan suddenly said, breaking the awkward silence.

After a while, Soleil now relaxed since the alcohol shows his effect, needed a little break from all the dancing. She walked towards a quiet corner to breath fresh air.

The dimly lit corners of the room offered a semblance of privacy,  he spotted her from where he stood as he only wanted to look out for his friends, but as he saw her alone, crouched down with her head on her knees, he approached her cautiously.

"Soleil, you okay?" Soleil, a bit unsteady on her mind, looked at him with a mix of surprise and suspicion. "What do you want, Regulus?"

He didn't say anything, just stared at her beauty, "I never meant to hurt you that summer. I was stupid, blinded by jealousy."

Soleil, swaying slightly, looked at him, her eyes reflecting a mixture of emotions, "Do you know how much that hurt, Regulus?"

He goes closer and takes her hands in his, and as she was too drunk to act she let him, "I know, and I'm genuinely sorry. I want to make things right between us."

Soleil's guard softened for a moment as she considered his words, the alcohol and the atmosphere of the party clouding her judgment, "Maybe... I don't know. It's just not that simple."

"I understand, Soleil. Let's take it step by step, but I want to try." She then shakes her head, as she slowly came back to senses. She takes a step back and out of his touch, "I don't think it's a good idea, let's finish the project and act like we never were friends, it's easier that way."

"Easier for you maybe, but not for me, Sunny. I need you near, I need you as a friend again and I'm sorry for putting you through something so terrible, I regret it so so much. I hate how you ignore me, how we aren't friends anymore, how you can laugh when I'm losing myself without you." He rambles the words down like a waterfall, without meeting her eyes.

"That doesn't change anything, Reggie." She said and left. "Reggie?" he mumbled to himself looking after her, she used the old nickname she had for him as it was something normal. It couldn't be only the alcohol that made her talk to him, right?
