With a bit of time to spare before heading to the training grounds, Y/n decided to make their way to the S.H.I.E.L.D. cafeteria to grab a quick breakfast. As they entered the bustling cafeteria, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a variety of breakfast options filled the air.

The cafeteria was a spacious and modern area, designed to cater to the needs of the agents within the facility. Large windows allowed natural light to flood the space, creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The room was adorned with sleek tables and chairs, providing ample seating for agents to gather and fuel up for the day ahead.

Y/n walked along the serving stations, taking in the array of breakfast choices available. The cafeteria offered a wide selection of both hot and cold options to suit various preferences and dietary requirements. From hearty breakfast burritos and fluffy scrambled eggs to a variety of cereals, fruits, and pastries, there was something for everyone.

As Y/n made their selections, they couldn't help but notice the friendly chatter and camaraderie among fellow agents, and of course a couple of stares, it was reasonable though, a 10-year-old at a top-secret government facility. It was not uncommon to see agents exchanging ideas, discussing missions, or simply enjoying a meal together, forming connections that extended beyond the training grounds.

With their tray filled with a bunch of waffles, Y/n found a comfortable spot at one of the tables. They savored each bite, appreciating the nourishment that would fuel their physical and mental performance throughout the day. The vibrant energy of the cafeteria provided an invigorating backdrop, setting the tone for the exciting challenges that awaited them.

As Y/n finished their breakfast, they checked the time and realized it was now time to make their way to the training grounds to meet with Maria Hill. He gathered his belongings, cleared his tray, and left the cafeteria with a renewed sense of determination, excited for the next few steps of his day.

Approaching the training grounds, their heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nerves. The air seemed to be filled with electric sparks as agents went about their tasks, unaware of the challenge that awaited Y/n. Spotting Maria Hill, Y/n made their way towards her, their determination evident in their stride.

Maria Hill stood near a glass box, or as she called it "a designated testing area", her expression composed and focused. Y/n approached he couldn't help but become confused at the glass box-looking room, Maria acknowledged their presence with a nod, her eyes assessing Y/n's readiness."Good morning, Y/n," Maria greeted them. "Today, we have a special test to evaluate your abilities and determine your potential, level, and job, within S.H.I.E.L.D."

Y/n nodded, trying to steady their racing heartbeat. They had trained diligently, just not for this moment, honing their skills and studying different scenarios. Now was the time to put their training and hobbies into action.

"Thank you, Agent Hill," Y/n replied, their voice steady. "I'm ready to demonstrate what I'm capable of." completely lying to himself.

Maria Hill's gaze softened slightly, recognizing Y/n's eagerness and confusion.

"I have no doubt you are," she chuckled. "Today's test will challenge your problem-solving skills, adaptability, physicality, and resourcefulness. It's designed to simulate real-world scenarios you may encounter as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent."

Y/n's focus sharpened as they absorbed Maria's words. This was their chance to prove themselves, to showcase their potential and dedication to the cause.Maria motioned for Y/n to follow her, leading them into the glass room. The surroundings shifted, transforming into a simulated cityscape filled with challenges and obstacles. Y/n suddenly felt a sense of relief that he was not being tested for claustrophobia and could feel the weight of the moment lift off his shoulders as they prepared to face the unknown."Our test scenario involves a hostage situation," Maria explained. "Your objective is to rescue the hostages, neutralize any threats, and ensure the safety of innocent civilians. You'll need to think on your feet, make quick decisions, and adapt to changing circumstances."Y/n nodded, their mind focused on the task at hand. They had studied hostage situations extensively, under the repeated request of his aunt Nat.

As the test began, Y/n's senses heightened, their instincts taking over. They assessed the situation, quickly identifying potential threats, and formulating a plan of action. With calculated precision, they moved through the simulated cityscape, employing stealth, agility, and training to navigate the challenges that arose.

Throughout the test, Y/n encountered unexpected obstacles and surprises, testing their ability to think critically and remain composed under pressure (mostly because he saw some guy do a box split while trying to fight him). He swiftly adapted their strategies, making split-second decisions to safeguard the hostages and neutralize the threats.Maria Hill observed Y/n's performance, her eyes sharp and analytical. She took note of their decision-making, their resourcefulness, and their ability to handle the unexpected. Y/n's skills and potential shone through, affirming their readiness to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. As the test drew to a close, Y/n's breaths came in measured steadiness, their body and mind weary but fulfilled. They stood before Maria, his gaze steady and their determination unwavering.

"Test completed, Y/n," Maria said, a hint of approval in her voice. "You showcased exceptional skills and adaptability throughout the scenario. Your performance demonstrates the potential to excel within S.H.I.E.L.D."Y/n felt a surge of pride mixed with relief at Maria's words. The test had been challenging, but they had risen to the occasion, proving their worth."Thank you, Agent Hill," Y/n replied, their voice filled with gratitude. "It's an honor to be considered for a position within S.H.I.E.L.D., and I'm committed to upholding its principles and protecting innocent lives."

Maria Hill's lips curled into a faint smile. "I believe you have what it takes, Agent Y/n," she said. "Your dedication and performance today speak volumes. Welcome to S.H.I.E.L.D."With those words, Y/n's journey as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent officially began, opening a world of possibilities and challenges.
