ELIO YANG hated being different than others.
Even when he had found a sanctuary for kids just like him, he was still different. He was the person all of them would whisper about as he walked by.
They all thought he was a devil's spawn. It wasn't his fault that no matter where he went, trouble followed. It wasn't his fault that his face made him seem meaner than he was. And it most definitely wasn't his fault that he didn't really know how to control his abilities.
And still, Percy Jackson followed him around. He always talked to him, even when Elio wasn't in the mood to talk. He was the only person not afraid of Elio, and something like that made Elio want to protect him from anything that might harm him.
