Against her better judgment Clara stayed rooted in her position straining her ears in a desperate attempt to make out any of what Lorenzo was saying.

She had made out package and that was it. She had no clue what he was so mad about.

Maybe he had lost his package? She let out a huff as she turned over and made her way into the kitchen begrudgingly. Her body guards looked over at her with a small smile. Well at least Angelina did.

In the month and a half she had spent with the women she had learnt that they were polar opposites. Angelina smiled a lot. If not all the time. While Paula was far more reserved. She only ever really spoke when she needed to.

"You ready to go Clara?" Angelina asked tilting her head as she put her cup of coffee down. Clara nodded grimly. The last thing she wanted to do was go to school today. She had neither the energy nor the mental capacity to handle a full day of school. Not to mention she had the witch first period. The teacher simply had not let the girl rest since the essay situation. She had made sure to pick on Clara at every second of every lesson forcing her to read out to the class or write unnecessary essays.

Clara was very tempted to run to Lorenzo and get the woman gone but she couldn't help but feel guilty. At the end of the day the witch h was still a person with a husband and kids. She was still a mother and a daughter to someone. She didn't deserve to lose her entire livelihood because Clara couldn't read. She'd just tough it out.

She'd keep reading with Romeo until she could read fluently. Though it didn't seem that would happen any time soon. She clicked her tongue as she grabbed her bag shrugging it over her shoulder before making her way out towards the car.

She waited for Paula to unlock the door before clumsily clambering in setting her bag down next to her as she leaned back clicking her seatbelt into place.

"Did you sleep well?" Angelina asked trying to make conversation.

Clara let out a small hum in response as she closed her eyes resting her head against the cool window pane. She was so tired.

She wanted to forget everything. She wanted to go back to being the Clara that Lorenzo described. The little girl whose biggest problem was that she couldn't get a dandelion without the help of her father. She wanted to be carefree and happy like Keenan was.

She wanted to be able to joke with her brothers the way they joked with each other. Yet she always sort of felt like she was watching her own life from the sidelines. Days blurred into each other as she felt like she was simply repeating a miserable cycle of existence.

She couldn't help but let her mind wander to the question of what if she just gave up? What if she just let herself sink so far deep she was far beyond redemption. Or had she already fallen to that point? Was this rock bottom or did she have further to fall?

Paula gave the girl a small eye before turning to Angelina with a frown. They could protect Clara physically but there was nothing they could do to protect her from herself. There wasn't a single thing they could do to make her feel any better about herself because there was only ever so much words could do. Reassurance only went so far.

Clara almost jumped five feet in the air when a ruler was slammed down onto her desk jolting her out of her daydream.

"You would think someone like you would pay more attention in class."

Clara bit her tongue. She wanted to beat the shit out the old hag infront of her. She wanted to dive over the table and rip her ugly grey hair out of her scalp one hair follicle at a time.
