Not So Mean

Chapter. 5

"We have to go and talk to Copia.. maybe he can help you.." Sodo sighs while running a hand through the Multi-ghoul's black and purple curls.

Once Swiss finally calmed him down, the Fire-ghoul started to think of a plan that could help him get away from Sister Imperator.

"Okay.." The Multi-ghoul agrees before closing his eyes and letting his body relax a bit as Sodo continues to play with his hair. "I really don't want to lose you... or the others.."

The shorter man lets out a small sigh while looking down at Swiss, whose head is resting on his lap. "We'll make this work somehow.. I promise.." He mutters while his tail gently wraps around the other Ghoul's tail. "Let's just go talk to Copia.."

Swiss lets out a hum in agreement but doesn't seem to move anytime soon. "Just a few more minutes.. okay..?"

"Yea.. of course.." The Fire-ghoul agrees with a little nod before everything between the two Ghouls falls silent again. The only sounds being audible are their breathing and Swiss soft purring.

"Sì, entra." Copis says before his door gets nearly kicked open, making the Papa nearly fall out of his chair, his expression turning quickly from surprise and start to concern as he sees the two Ghouls at the door, and the normally energetic Swiss stay quiet and look down at the ground. "Close the door and tell me what happened." He commands in an unusual stern tone.

The two Ghouls both nod, and Swiss walks over to Copia's desk while Sodo quickly closes the door before walking over, stopping next to the taller man.

"It's Sister Imperator.. she threatens to send Swiss back to the pit if he gets too close to any of us." The Fire-ghoul explains the situation, making the Papa let out a sigh in response. "She can't do that.. can she..?"

"I'm afraid she can.." He replies while getting up from his chair. "Swiss is not my Ghoul, which is why I can't protect him in this case.."

"What do you mean he's not your Ghoul. You summoned him, didn't you?!" Sodo snarls before going quiet again as the Multi-ghoul places a hand onto his shoulder and gently pulls him back a bit.

"I did. But I wasn't able to put a binding spell on him due to him being a Multi-ghoul." Copia starts to explain while stepping around his desk and moving closer to the two Ghouls. "Which makes him technically not even part of the pack or give him the need to listen to what I tell him."

The shorter Ghoul looks stunned by this revelation and looks over as Swiss, who is staring at the ground. "So.. he's Imperator's Ghoul..?" The Fire-ghoul asks carefully as he slowly looks back at Copia again.

"Oh, no. None of us have a binding spell on him." He sighs while leaning against his desk. "He is a stray, so to say.."

All three men stay quiet for a few moments before Sodo gets an idea. "Couldn't you put a binding spell on him now? Then he would be your Ghoul, and Imperator can't just send him back.."

Copia sighs and looks over at Swiss, who is blankly staring at the floor. "I could try.. but I don't know if it will work or not.. and it could be pretty painful for him if it fails.."

"Swiss..?" The Fire-ghoul asks as he looks over at the taller Ghoul and gently bumps the back of their hands together. "What do you want to do..?"

The Multi-ghoul immediately nods in response. "I don't care if it could hurt. I want to stay.. I'm not going back to the pit again." He smiles lightly and looks at Sodo, who is now holding Swiss's indexfinger with his own while looking up at him with concern and something that almost seems like fear. The taller ghoul gives the other a small shove with his shoulder. "I'll be okay.  Don't worry about me, Firefly.. a little pain is nothing I can't handle.."
