In a world ravaged by war's cruel embrace,
lies a journey filled with hardships they must face.
Souls uprooted from familiar lands,
Forced to flee, with their lives at others' hands.
Once nestled in a home,
Its solace was all they'd ever known.
Never once caring about what lies ahead,
If only they knew, one day their neighbors would be dead.
Their homes would be ravaged
By less person, more savage.
Their towns burnt down
As they watched their people fall to the ground.
Their home, once warm with love's gentle touch,
Now echoes with memories that pain so much.
Amidst chaos and sorrow, they sought refuge afar,
Hoping this memory wouldn't leave a bad scar.
Without thinking, they left a friend so dear,
Later on, regret would be too much to bear.
It once purred and played, a source of solace and delight,
But destiny's cruel hand forced them to take flight.
The echoes of their lost home haunted their sleep,
While memories of their cat made them weep.
They were muted, crying, silently suffering,
Wondering, are our lives really worth nothing?
Days turned into nights, and nights into years,
How much longer will we stay here? How much longer will we bear?
