the wind blew through your hair, a light summer breeze

"oh hun" your mom spoke. "are you sure those two boys mr.marner said to hire are going to fine?"

"yes he knows right!" your dad exclaimed, looking back at you. "y/n remember when we stay at the resort—"

"i know i know. no boys, no cabin parties, and only staying with evie's family" you rolled your eyes, you've memorize those words for the last years

your parents owned a resort in malibu that opened in summer. ever year you stayed there, including your father's manger assistant family. the marners. evie was the daughter who happened to be your age, who you always hung out with during these trips

your dad pulled into the private parking, you noticed the marners car already there. as you stepped out you looked around, seeing the marners come your way

"y/n!" mrs.marner called, hugging you tight. "you've gone so big!"

"hi mrs.marner" you smiled, glancing over to her husband. "hi mr.marner"

"hey kiddo!" he laughed

you looked around and noticed evie out of sight, you hadn't seen evie in a bit, she didn't come the last summer because of camp

"where's evie?" you asked, curiously looking around

"she's inside" mrs.marner spoke up, "she's talking to the two new boys your father agreed in hiring"

"they work at my gas station back home" he told your dad. "great boys, you and evie can give a tour of the place tomorrow since it's basically your home"

you just nodded walking away. you entered the lobby and saw someone that looked so familiar

evie had changed from the last time you saw her. her curly short hair was now long, style in an updo. she wore a short mini skirt with blouse too, she stared deeply at one of the boys eyes

evie noticed you from afar and called. "y/n!" she came running, hugging you tight. "it's been a while" a cigarette hung from her mouth

"evie!" you looked at her. "i couldn't even recognize you"

"two years had been so long" she laughed. "also your dad must of told you about the two boys my daddy wanted to hire"

she dragged you to the two boys. one of them was slim and tall and the other was a tag bit shorter

the one slightly shorter was movie star handsome, "oh my lord"

"that's steve and that's sodapop" she pointed at them
