Scarred faces {Remus x reader}

Hallow's Eve

I walk in with James, Sirius, and Peter. All of us are laughing at the scared looks we saw on the Slytherin students' faces. Remus was sitting on the couch with a book when he looked up. He seemed really tired and stressed, almost sickly pale as well.
"I'm guessing it went well?" He asks.
"Totally! You should have seen their faces!" James laughed.
I sat down beside Remus and put my hand on his forehead. He sits there slightly shocked by my sudden movements. He moves away from my hand a little, probably confused by my actions.
"You don't seem sick but you're so pale. I suggest you go get some sleep now. I would hate if you missed out on the Hallows Eve banquet tomorrow night." I say.
Remus just nods before going up to his dorm. I say goodnight to the others before going to my dorm room as well.

I wake up the next morning and go down to the common room where I see James, Sirius, and Peter waiting for me. I frown when I don't see Remus.
"Is he not coming?" I ask.
"He said he didn't feel well." Peter said as he shrugs.
I frown but then smile, "well, let's head to breakfast. I'm really hungry."
We head down to the great hall to eat breakfast before heading to class. Today, we had Herbology and DADA before lunch, then I had a free period after lunch. I sit down at the table as I grab two pieces of toast, a couple eggs and three slices of bacon.
"Typical breakfast for typical Y/n." Sirius joked.
"Oh? Like your honey and banana toast isn't any less typical." I tease.
Sirius dramatically puts his hand on his chest causing the rest of us to laugh. I eat my breakfast before deciding to bring a bowl of fruit to Remus.
Once I get to the common room, I see a boy a few years older than me and ask him to take the bowl of fruit to Remus. The boy nods before taking the bowl and leaving. With a smile, I head to my first class, Herbology.

I enter the greenhouse and smile when I see Peter had saved me a spot. Looking at the plant on the table I smile. It's a very pretty flower with a black stem and leaves. Professor Sprout walks into the greenhouse and smiles as she looks at us.
"Ok class. Take a good look at the plant in front of you. Can anyone tell me what this plant is called?" Sprout asks.
A Hufflepuff girl raises her hand and Sprout points at her.
"A Moly. Moly is a powerful plant that can be eaten to counteract enchantments." The girl says.
"Very good! And do you know what it's mostly used in?" Sprout asks and Lily raises her hand.
"Yes, Evans!"
"Wiggenweld Potion?" Lily asks.
"Very good!" Sprout exclaims.

We leave the greenhouse and I slump forward.
"It should be a crime to have us take classes on Hallows Eve." I complain.
"Y/n's right. This is totally unacceptable! I say we skip the rest of our classes!" James says.
"You guys can, but I really want to go to our next class! I heard we're learning about Ghosts!" I say with a smile.
Suddenly we stop walking when we see Malfoy, Black, and Snape. I frown as I look at them. I walk in front of the boys as I try to get past the Slytherins but end up getting pushed to the ground.
"Hey! Don't push her!!" James says as him and Sirius runs up to me. Peter is close behind them before he helps me up.
"You were the one who came up with the prank last night weren't you?" Malfoy asks angrily.
"What if I was?" I ask as I brush off my robes.
Malfoy pulls out his wand sends me flying backwards.
"Y/N!!"
I land on the hard ground and groan as I try to stand up with the help of Peter at my side. I glare at the Slytherins as James and Sirius runs to my side.
"Y/n, you're hurt." Peter whispers and I look down to see my legs and arms scraped up.
"Let's go. They're not worth dealing with." I mutter as Peter helps me walk away.
James, Sirius and Peter follow me to the hospital wing where Madam Pomfrey was.
"Oh dear, what happened?" She says as she walks up to me.
"Had a tumble down the stairs." I say with a smile, ignoring the incredulous looks from my friends.
Madam Pomfrey looks between me and the boys, almost skeptical before getting some bandages for me. I sit down on a bed as my friends sit on the other.
"Why didn't you tell her the truth?" Peter asked me.
"Because then there was the possibility that we could have gotten in trouble for last night if they told." I said before smiling. "Besides, aren't you guys happy to skip class?"
"I would have liked it better if it wasn't because you got hurt." Sirius muttered making me chuckle.
Pomfrey comes back and bandages my legs and arms before telling me to rest. She then sends the boys out of the hospital wing leaving me alone. I stay on the bed, but pull out my DADA book to read up on today's lesson.
"Y/n? Why are you here?"
I look up to see Remus at the foot of the bed I was on. I just smile at him before motioning to my arms and legs before going back to reading.
"Ah, Mr Lupin. You're here a little earlier today." Madam Pomfrey says making me confused.
"You were supposed to come here today?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah. I told Madam Pomfrey that I might come in today if I didn't feel better." Remus say's quickly.
I look at Remus before looking back at my book. He was hiding something, I just didn't know what. I didn't want to pry because I wanted him to tell me on his own terms. But that didn't mean that I was just going to ignore the obvious signs of his secretive behavior.
Remus lays down on the bed beside mine. There is a silence between us until he decides to speak.
"Uh, thanks for the fruits this morning." Remus says.
"Think nothing of it. You're my friend and I care about you. I hate to see you look so sick." I say with a soft smile.
Remus looks at me for a few seconds before looking out one of the windows. I go back to reading today's lesson before I was released by Madam Pomfrey. I put my book in my bag and turn to Remus.
"I'll be back with the others and we'll eat lunch together!" I say before walking out of the hospital wing.
I found the others in the great hall. I walk up to them and there smiles widen when they see me.
"Y/n!" James calls as he waves at me.
"Hey guys! I'm getting Remus lunch and told him that I would try to have you guys join." I say.
"I'm up for it!" James says.
"Me too!" Sirius says.
"I'll follow." Peter says quietly.
We each grab two plates full of food while Peter carries the drinks. We get to the hospital wing and Remus smiles when he sees us. We set down the plates on the table next to his bead and talk as he eats with us.
I joke with the others as we eat. I can see Remus has cheered up a bit, but he still looks really tired and pale. I look out the window as I try to think of what I could do to help my friend.
"Earth to Y/n!"
I look at the others and smile. "Sorry, lost in thought. Actually, I have a free period right now, so I'm going to go to the library to do my homework."
I leave my friends and make my way to the library. I find a quiet spot in the back of the library and sit down before pulling out my books to do my homework.

I laughed as I sat with my friends, sadly Remus didn't feel well enough to join us for the Hallows Eve banquet. I looked around and smiled before going back to eating and talking with my friends.
After dinner, we made our way to the common room but I paused when I thought I heard a howl. I look out the window down at the lake as the reflection of the whole moon quivers in the water.
