maya summers has been a part of the track team since freshman year, she had never wanted to join in the first place given that she wasn't exactly sporty. but her best friend gabriela campos was extremely convincing and maya soon fell in love with track, it was something that made her feel relaxed and she never felt out of place with her teammates.
aj campos has always been near but not close to maya, she's tried to keep a distance because she's always been gaby's friend. it had never occurred to aj that maybe maya wanted to be around both of them. with both girls on the same track team, there always seems to be a little distance between them. maya considers aj to be a friend but aj pushes away most of the time, she always seems to have her guard up around the girl.
but when paige joins track to save herself from suspension, the way she interacts with aj makes maya feel enveloped by something she's never felt before. and it may be time for her to confront her feelings and what it means for her relationship with the campos twins.
