**Reckoning at Dawn**

As the first hints of dawn painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, Nhai finally caught up with Ai, finding him amidst the shadows of the forest, his figure hunched over and trembling with the aftermath of his insatiable thirst.

"Ai," Nhai called out, his voice filled with a mixture of relief and concern as he approached the vampire, his heart aching at the sight of his beloved in such torment.
