July 7th,2024- England (Charles pov)

"So what?" I ask Carlos as he groans

"So I have to spend multiple days of our summer break somewhere I don't even want to be!" He exclaims as I nod

I hadn't been focused or engaged in this conversation with Carlos even the slightest bit,every time I've tried taking my mind of Magnolia I just end up thinking more about her every time.

I talked to Lando about it and ultimately he told me what I had been told by Paul- just tell her the truth. And as much as I knew I shouldn't, she deserves to know why what happened ended up happening.

It's moments like this where I just wish I could turn the clock back to when our relationship wasn't like this.

December 5th,2022- Monaco

Now it's one thing to be upset but how I just acted was just on another level.

Liv and I just left the conference with the marketing team that we would be working with during the new season and I was extremely rude just then.

"Oh god that was bad. That was bad right?" I ask Liv as we exit the building

"I mean it definitely wasn't great Charles." She sighs

"Maybe I should go back and apologize" I suggest as she shake her head and glances at her watch

"You have no time for that and neither do they, they should be meeting with Carlos right now so don't make them more mad. Apologize next time." She says as I nod

The meeting just caught me on a bad day, last night I met up with Charlotte and it didn't necessarily go the way I would've hoped. Regardless I know I acted very inappropriately and immature honestly.

"Just go home, take a deep breath and enjoy your break, before you know we'll be back to work."Liv says

"Ok but before you go, what was the name of the woman leading the meeting?" I ask her

"Magnolia Carter. You'll be seeing a lot of her next season so try to make nice with her if you ever see her out and about around Monaco." She suggests as I nod

"I doubt she'll want to speak to me but I will try anyway."I say

"Good, it's always worth a try. Now I've got to get going on back to Tuscany so enjoy your break, If you need anything just text me and I'll text you right back." She smiles as I nod

"Okay. Thank you Liv, I'll talk with you later. Enjoy your break." I respond

We part ways and I make my way back to my car so I can get going back to my apartment which wasn't far, but the whole time on the ride back I couldn't stop thinking about Magnolia, something about her left me intrigued. I think it was her attitude towards me and how she didn't put up with the way I acted. And she didn't care who I was she still defended herself and her company.

I admired it and she was latched into my brain and i barely knew her name.

"I think I'll stay in this weekend, I don't feel like going out." I say to lando and Carlos as we are walking out of the paddock

"Why is that chuck?" Lando asks

"I think I'm supposed to be doing something with Alex tonight and I just don't want to go out after the race." I shrug and lando nods

"What about you Carlos?" Lando asks

"I'll probably go out after the race. Not tonight." He says

"Well me either, I want to go to bed right now and not wake up until the weekend is-" he begins but he's cut off by his phone ringing

"Hold on for a second guys." He says and picks up the phone

Obviously it's inaudible for a few seconds while whoever was on the other end was speaking

"Well it was difficult today, I hope it can get a little bit easier throughout the weekend." Lando says

Carlos looks at me and I shrug at him , "are you serious?" Lando asks

Again more inaudible dialogue until he speaks again

"That's crazy, send me the picture please." He laughs the conversation between whoever was o. The phone goes on until lando says something that gives me a clue as to who he's talking to

"Maybe if you just came this weekend instead of spa we wouldn't be having this problem but that's on you." He says and as he says it my heart skips a beat

"I'll ask him later, but I'll call you tomorrow morning." He says then hangs up

"Who's that?" Carlos asks

"Magnolia. Apparently they showed lily in the Mclaren garage and wrote on the nameplate: Lando Norris's Partner." He laughs

"Oh wow. How did Oscar feel?" Carlos asks

"I don't think he knows, Maggie said she was going to text it to them." Lando shrugs

"Why's she not here?" Carlos asks

"Hard to tell, she says she wants a break, but I think she just has other work stuff she'd rather do then come out here." Lando responds

"Well what about Budapest?" Carlos asks

"She'll be in Milan. Her friend graduated law from school and they are having his party there." Lando explains

That information was news to me, and it doesn't make a difference because obviously I wouldn't be able to change her mind and get her here but it was still just weird making this change.

"You alright over there Charles?" Carlos asks as I look up and nod

"Yeah, thinking about dinner." I joke as they both laugh at me and we find ally exit the paddock

"Well I'm this way so I'll see you guys tomorrow" Carlos says and me and Lando wave goodbye

"So what are you going tonight?" Lando asks

"I don't know, Alex said she had a place in mind and I'm just going along with it." I shrug

"That's the one area I don't trust. Never will I let someone else determine my dinner." He laughs

"I don't care all that much, as long as I'm eating." I shrug

"Well I'll see you tomorrow mate." Lando says as we reach his car

"See you" I say and continue walking to my car and get in

I take a deep breath before starting the car and driving out.

I knew it was going to be hard, but something about the realization that I wouldn't know anything about her anymore was not sitting well with me, how I could've had something so good and still manage to fuck it up this bad was seriously astonishing to me.
