"NO WAY IN HELL I'M GOING BACK!," I screamed at my brother, Chanyeol. "But hell is your home, Annie. Okay I know, bad time for jokes but please, dad is requesting you to be...," his sentence trailed off as if not wanting me to know what he was about to say. I groaned in annoyance. "My home is now this house. This building is my home. And what does that mad old man wants from me?! He knows I'm not his real daughter!," I said. Chanyeol kept quite. I slammed my fist on the kitchen table. "Tell me or get out. Now," I said. He hesitated for a moment before answering, "He wants you to be his heir. But for that to happen, you need a partner, basically what you call husband in this world," he said, frowning when he knew that he shouldn't have told me that. "No. I'm not going back there. I don't care what that old man would do... but this is my decision," I said, a lot cooler in the head. He looked at me, worried plastered all over his face. I sighed. "Yeol, do you even like living down there?," I asked. He shook his head. "Wanna live with me?," I asked, taking food out of the fridge to cook something to eat. "I...I don't know. What is that?," he said as he poked a packet of salmon. "It's fish," I tried my very best to not tease my older brother. "Well, at least stay until dinner is ready," I said smiling gently at him.
"It's decided. I'm going to stay here with you. To protect and keep you company," he said the moment he finished eating. I gave him a look that said I don't need you to protect or keep me company, I've been living alone for a year already. "Ooook. I know you've been living alone and you're powerful blah blah blah," he said rolling his eyes. I smirked before showing him his room. "Ok so goodnight, I have school tomorrow and sooner or later you too," I said before closing the door to his room.
"Urgh... I look ugly," I said, looking myself in the mirror. "You're not. You're pretty," Chanyeol suddenly appeared. "OH MY GOD CHANYEOL," I screamed. He chuckled. "Whatever you do, don't destroy the house. I worked 'hard' to buy this house," I said before walking off to school.
"Hey Annie!," I heard a way to familiar voice shouted my name. I turned around. Alex. "Hey dude," she greeted. "Hey," I replied to my one best friend friend from hell, literally. It took me all my composure to not jump onto her and not let go. "What brings you here?," I asked since I knew that she lives far away from here and does not attend to the same school as me. "Moved. My step mom wanted a change of air so here we are. I hate going to a new school," she sighed. "Got your schedule?," I asked. She handed me the piece of paper. I hummed. "You're lucky. Its the same as mine and also Baekhyun," I didn't say the last part out loud.
The lunch bell rang and students flooded the hallway. "Yah, Baekhyun. Stop staring its rude and making me uncomfortable," I said without turning to face him. "A-ah ye-yeah," he said as he packed his bag as fast as he could before sprinting off. I chuckled. I sat at my usual place and spotted my dear Alex, lost. Again, I chuckled. I waved at her. She smiled and sat at the seat in front of me. "That boy who seats next to you in class is staring at you," she whispered. I sighed and ignored her statement since I knew who it was. Then she brought up a topic that I hated. "Coldface, I heard that your dad is serious about making you the next ruler of hell," she said, stuffing her face with potato chips. I glared at her. "What? Don't look at me like that. I'm innocent. But I also heard that... he would do anything to make you marry that prince. You know, N or Hakyeon or whatever you call him," she said. I stared at her in horror. No way. The bell rang again, making us pack our lunch and walk to our next class.
The last subject came which also meant that the week was ending and I can sleep all I want during the weekend. But the last subject is also the one I hated the most, French. Ms. Ackerman entered that class and checked our homework. She started teaching and I started drifting off. "Ms. Annie, I would like a word with you after class," she said. I nodded. The class ended and I walked to the teacher's desk. "Annie, I see that you're clever. Very clever. And I would like to make a request," she said. I gave her a look that said just say it woman. She sighed before continuing. "Please tutor Baekhyun. He's new here so he needs to learn a lot of things," she said. I stared at her in horror. She dismissed me before I got a chance to argue. So now I can't sleep during the weekend. "Yah! Byun Baekhyun, meet me at my house tomorrow at 10 in the morning sharp," I said as I walked past him. What is my luck with that dude.
