Balloon walked Suitcase upstairs, knocking on Nickel's door. Nickel opens it, a small smile forming on his face. "Hey, you're back Lo- Oh. When did Suitcase get back??" Nickels smile goes back to his usual uninterested look as he steps out of the room.
"Just today!" She says cheerfully, in a good mood from all the warm welcomes she had gotten. Nickel looks her up and down before smiling, but it wasn't the same smile he just had. "Welcome back." "thanks!"
Balloon smiled at their encounter, glad his best friends were getting along. Nickel glanced at Balloon, taking in how happy he seemed to have Suitcase back. He wasn't sure why he thought he'd ever be first.
It felt weird to Nickel to have her back. He was glad Balloon had one more person who would treat him right, but the possibility of replacement made him feel sick. He just made sure to seem uninterested.
There was a bit of an awkward pause before OJ noticed Suitcase, walking over to talk to her, probably set up some room situation, who knows. Nickel turned to Balloon.
"You seem happy." He glances away, trying to seem bored. "Yeah! I'm glad she's doing alright! I missed her a lot.." Balloon replied. Nickels frown grew a little genuine.. Balloon never seemed happy about him like that.. Whatever.
"Yeah, that's good." He made himself yawn. "I'm tired, I'm going back to sleep." Nickel walked back into the room, closing the door behind him and leaving a smiling Balloon in the hallway to listen to OJ and Suitcase talk.

Sure, Suitcase was always nice to Balloon.. But Nickel knew him for longer, and he'd done more with Balloon than she ever could. There's no way Balloon would just throw away what they had for his old friend... hopefully.
He was probably just reading too deep into it. Come on man, you've been working on that..||
