The rays of the sun kissed my face. I opened my eyes and realized it is morning already. Bumangon ako at naghanda para pumasok. There's so much to do today at work.
After 1 hour, I am driving on my way to work na while listening to this song from my favorite group so far. I really have to check this group kapag nagkatime ako. Just to see their faces and begin fangirling over them.
"I think I need to find a new job" Era said while stretching out, I laugh. "Di mo lang matapos yang work mo, nag decide ka na"
"eh bakit kasi wala akong generational wealth na yan!" Era is still whining. Same though actually, I sometime evny those people who do not have to work everyday kasi meron naman silang pera for themselves but on the other hand, working on your career, on yourself, and supporting your family at the same time is much more motivating.
"Guys, the new hire will be starting today. I'll let you meet her later" Sabi ni Jana habang bitbit ang mga application papers. Nawala sa isip ko yung new hire ah. The culture here in the office kasi is once we have a new employee, we really make time to welcome them. "Ikaw na bahala mag order ng food, Max.
Tumango nalang ako as a response.
"Okay, I won't resign na. Baka pogi yung new hire eh. And, please order pizza." Tugon naman ni Era
"Sure ka ba na lalaki?"
"Hmp! Okay din naman kung babae" at natawa nalang kaming dalawa
The food is already prepared and there will be a small gathering din. Maya maya pa ay tinawag na kaming lahat papunta sa board room. Era, Janna, and my other workmates are already there. Kinuha ko lang ang water bottle ko and when I was opening the door, I saw a very familiar person.
"So guys, let us all welcome Sheena to the team. She will be working with the marketing department starting today. Please be nice to her. And Sheena, don't hesitate to approach any one of us here if you need help" Our manager said as he was clapping his hands and motioned us to start digging out food.
I smiled at her. Her facial structures become mature. Hindi ako pwedeng magkamali. This is Sheena. My ex during college.
"Hoy, ano pa ginagawa mo dyan. Diet ka ba?"
"Hindi ah" I ignored my thoughts. Bakit kasi dito siya nag apply, I mean, I know she's good. It's just that our break up did not really go well kasi we are in the same circle of friends and after we broke up, we started to part ways na din even as friends. Kumuha nalang ako ng pagkain to ease my stress.
Throwing myself at my bed, I can finally call it a night. I decided to sleep early since I already ate in the office but then I remembered na wala na palang cat food si Chuchi, my cat. No choice, I put on my hoodie and went to the store.
"okayy, cat food is secured. Time to go"
"oh, you have a cat pala?" muntik ko na mabitawan ang dala ko when someone from behind speak. She smiled and eto na naman tayo, mukha na namang lumiliwanag ang paligid whenever she smiles.
"Nicolette. Ah, yes meron hehe"
"Pabalik ka na ba? Sabay na tayo."
"Oo sure" Sabay kaming bumalik sa condo, she is wearing a grey hoodie and grey sweatpants that looks really good on her. May bitbit din siyang paper bag just like me.
"Kumakain ka ba ng ramen?" she asked habang nasa elevator na kami
"Oo naman. It's my comfort food." She smiled. "care to join me? If free ka lang naman tonight."
I dont have anything to do naman and it is still early but I'm full na. Pero minsan lang naman to na poganda yung mag aaya sakin.
What? I laughed at the thought. Pero oo, inaamin ko, pogi na maganda naman talaga si Nicolette.
