Prologue

Paimon and Aether were taking a walk around the streets of Mondstadt, heading to the adventures guild after receiving a letter from Dainsleif saying he had a commission for them.

"Hey Katheryne, has there been any commissions posted for the Traveler" Paimon asked, gesturing to the blonde male beside her.

"Actually, since you mention it yes, the other blonde stranger friend of yours did come by early to post a commission for you. Something about investigating a strange domain on the boarder side of Mondstadt" Katheryne explained pulling out a medium sized paper map, showing a marked location.

"Thanks Katheryne, we'll head there immediately" Aether replied taking the map from Katheryne and examining it closely, before the two took their leave. Making their way to the marked location, via use of the waypoints scattered around Mondstadt.

-time skip-

"Dainsleif, you're here" Paimon exclaimed upon noticed their blonde-haired friend at the entrance of the domain.

"Traveler, Paimon. I see you received my commission" Dainsleif replied as the two made their way closer, quickly referring his focus back to the unusual domain. The group started at the locked domain in a short silence that was eventually interrupted by the flying fairy's voice.

"Well if we're going to investigate this domain that means we'll need to head inside" Paimon proclaimed tapping here small feet in the air with excitement.

"Then afterwards we can get some sticky honey roast form good hunter as a reward" Paimon whispered to herself practically already drooling from simply thinking about eating.

Aether took Paimon by the foot and began to drag her over to the domain entrance.

"Then why don't you go in first"

"HA WHAT NO! PAIMONS NOT THE ADVENTURER HERE! AND- AND PAIMON DOSEN'T WANT TO GO IN FIRST" Paimon yelled trying to loosen the Travelers grip on her foot.

"Traveler I'm afraid we'll have to leave your companion out of the domain, I can sense a lot of Abyssal energy circulating through the domain, and I only have enough strength to decrease its influence on two people" Dainsleif explained, the Traveler to pause for a second processing the information. A concerned expression fell over both Paimon and Aether as the realization of a potential complication came into view.

"The Traveler still hasn't completely mastered the Language of Teyvat, which is most why I do most of the talking for him, so without Paimon communicating with each other will be difficult" Paimon explained using a flurry of hand to express the problem, Dainsleif gave a monotone expression before explaining his reasoning.

"That won't be a problem, I won't struggle to understand the Traveler original language" Dainsleif replied to a blank expression on his face as he walked to the Domain unlocking it before heading inside. Aether and Paimon looked at each other confused, eventually despite being reluctance Aether followed Dainsleif into the Domain. Upon entering Aether realized that Dainsleif was right the Domain was coursing with strong Abyssal energy, that could surely drive any unprepared person insane.

"Over here Traveler, there is a map of the Domain" Aether listened to what Dainsleif said carefully expecting it to be in Teyvat's native language, but it wasn't instead he was taking to him in a language that he understood fluently... ⍜⎍⏁⌰⏃⋏⎅⟒⍀ (Outlander)

"You do know my language" Aether proclaimed surprised as he went over to the map that Dainsleif had pointed out. Carefully examining the maps contents Aether pinpointed a large room in the centre of the domain that was supposedly storing a type of stone. Aether took a mental note of the layout before starting to make his way down the first corridor Dainsleif following close behind him.
